I have never been to the Mid-West, although as far west I've been is Erie, PA -- which kind of beyond the Allegheny Plateau, with some fairly rolling terrain. Maybe this fall I will cross over to Ohio, just to see another state. But it's a long drive from the Ohio State border to Allegheny National Forest.
