The Woods

Winter Camping is Done For Now

I don’t know the next time I will be back out traveling, camping, exploring the wilderness now that January is well underway. I guess that’s fine as work and family obligations have picked up, money is tight and it’s frankly kind of cold out and the nights are long.

I might do some day trips and maybe do a night or two in the wilderness here and there, maybe during the Martin Luther King holiday. Maybe not go too far away, maybe just drag the tent back somewheres not too far at Cole Hill State Forest. I really don’t have to go far from home to have fun although I do like a good road trip.

I figure stay home and save money I’d not a bad thing, especially with funds as tight as they always are these days. More funding than later on for trips once the snow melts and longer weather comes in April. Winter camping is a lot of fun but it’s also a lot more work than spring and summer when I can just use the truck cap and won’t necessarily be using the tent heater.

Started packing my truck.

Started packing my truck. Got the sleeping gear in, tested out the propane heater. Those Big Buddy Heaters throw a lot of heat at the flip of a switch.
