Snow Depth – Sunday November 28

With the light snow locally, plus the decent amount of snow they got in the Berskhires the past few days, there is a noticeable snow pack on the ground. Will be interesting the next good clear day to look at the satellite imagery. You can see some of the snow on the ground yesterday’s Terra satellite but where there was snow, there also was a lot of high clouds.

I find it hard to believe winter is upon us again 🌨

The salt is back on the roads, the driveway was covered with black ice. The wind was whipping around and it was bitterly cold when I started my walk down into the Norman’s Kill Gorge.

I am really not ready for winter. I know it’s been late after a mild November. But seeing all that road salt yesterday really hit home. And the cold. I can pretend that summer and autumn aren’t done but reality strikes. I knew it was going to happen at some point.

What’s next ? πŸ”œ

Ever since getting back from West Virginia and Pennsylvania, and my Great Autumn Appalachian trip that’s the question on my mind. I really need something to explore and occupy my mind as I push through a new winter.

I know the thing I crave the most is novelty and exploring the new. Original things expand my imagination, they make memories that are kept. At the same time I don’t want to spend a lot of money so I can save and invest money for a better tomorrow, so some day I can live in a wild place like Pennsylvania or West Virginia.

Brown and Gray.

Today looking at at blog’s suggested photos, I noticed how brown and gray so many of the photos have gotten.

It happens every year, autumn comes and goes, the leaves fall and the woods becomes that clear, brown color of winter. Snow seems like it’s going to hold off for a while, but the changes of the season won’t last.
