Schuyler County

Schuyler County is a county located in the U.S. state of New York. As of the 2010 census, the population was 18,343. The county seat is Watkins Glen. Schuyler County is in the western part of New York State, west of Ithaca at the south end of Seneca Lake. The Finger Lakes National Forest is in the north part of the county.

That quaint Finger Lakes village just north of National Forest that received 9 inches of rain in less then a half hour during a summer thunderstorm in 2018, leading to cars floating down Main Street.

Sugar Hill – Finger Lakes Trail

Today's explorations bring me to Sugar Hill State Forest and the Finger Lakes Trail. Lots of good places to hike and camp around here. I hear equestrians and snowmobiles like it two with miles and miles of trails to do, some a bit muddy from the shallow soil and horse hooves.
