Cayuta

Cayuta is a town in Schuyler County, New York, United States. The population was 545 at the 2000 census.

The Town of Cayuta occupies the southeast corner of the county and is northeast of Elmira, New York.

Much of the land in Cayuta is publicly owned, and is part of the Connecticut Hill WMA, a series of rugged hills and highlands that are part of the Allegheny Mountains.

Cayuta Lake is a small lake located in Schuyler County, New York, United States. It is within the Town of Catharine, about three miles north of Odessa. The lake is also referred to locally as Little Lake, along NY 228.

Driving some of the rough roads in Connecticut Hill WMA, going slowly not to totally trash my suspension. Powers Road to Todd Road to Swain Hill Road. Bumpy! Almost didn't clear that tree with my kayak on my big truck, swaying back and forth of those rough road.

New York State’s Largest Wildlife Management Area Will Expand Through Land Trust Partnership | Finger Lakes Land Trust

The inger Lakes Land Trust (LLT) today announced the acquisition of 66 acres directly adjacent to Connecticut Hill Wildlife Management Area in the town of Newfield, Tompkins County. Connecticut Hill encompasses more than 11,000 acres of undeveloped land southwest of Ithaca and is the largest wildlife management area in the state.
