I am thinking New York State should make both Juneteeth and West Virginia Day state holidays. This way state workers can have a pleasant four day weekend to kick off the summer.

Good morning! Happy Summer! πThose lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer. That said, I have to clock in and work half a day midday today but later on I’ll probably check out the Speculator Beach. Today I’m wearing a t shirt π and sunscreen.

June 19, 2020 Night
Good evening! Partly clear and 74 degrees at Mason Lake. Calm wind. The dew point is 57 degrees.
It was a nice day, π did some swimming in the Speculator Beach and got seriously sunburnt. Yeah, I had sunscreen but I misplaced it. So my shoulders are super red. I did find it when I got back to camp. Honestly thought it wasn’t like I spent all day at the beach – all morning was working at the library Wi-Fi and the afternoon was down at the beach with my phone π± and the laptop. I hopped in the water occasionally but it’s not like I was swimming all day as I couldn’t miss client emails or calls. I did update the software on my work computer so the mobile internet is working but at camp I only have decent reception on my phone. πΆ

After spending so much time in the sun β today I’m tired and sore. While I gathered wood and have some camp garbage to burn I’m tired so I’ll skip the fire tonight fire tonight π₯. It really doesn’t get dark until pretty late this time of year and it’s bright and sunny early on in the morning.

Field Work
I think the real reason why I like the Field Work podcast is because I like listening to the different Midwestern farmer accents. There is a distinct difference between Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois and definitely something like Alberta and Saskatchewan. That and Zach Johnson of Minnesota Millennial Farmer YouTube channel is always so entertaining.
Summer
At noon on the first day of winter the sun is 23.5 degrees from the horizon in Albany, the first day of summer is 70 degrees. If it were straight overhead, as is the case on the tropic of capricorn on the first day of summer, it would be 90 degrees.
