Horseshoe Lake Wild Forest

Located mostly on the southern shores of Tupper Lake, Horseshoe Lake Wild Forest is popular for those adventurers looking to escape the crowds of Tupper Lake. There are six primitive camping spots available along Horseshoe Lake, with a few others away from the lake. The wild forest also has access of Lows Lake & Hitchins Pond Primitive Area for those looking to explore the area. The Bog River is a very popular destination, however the most popular hiking destination is the fire tower on Mount Arab.

New York Route 421

NY Route 421 is widely known for its rough and uneven condition, particularly the stretch that leads toward Horseshoe Lake in the Adirondacks. This is primarily caused by recurring frost heaves during the winter months, which buckle and crack the road surface.

Beautiful autumn day after rain in the morning, but it cleared out. Leaves though still are mostly gone but that's to expected on Columbus Day in the Adirondacks.

Otter Brook Road at Horseshoe Lake Wild Forest

Horseshoe Lake Road, beyond NY 421 and Horseshoe Lake becomes knwn as Otter Brook and winds through Horseshoe Wild Forest and Five Ponds Wilderness to several right-of-way roads, providing ample access to back country and a great place to ride mountain and gravel bikes.
