East Branch Sacandaga River
Riding Down Eleventh Mountain on NY 8 Was Fun
Mid-day Saturday traffic was light on NY 8, it's not like on weekdays, especially in the afternoon into the evening with truck and car traffic heading from Central NY to Adirondack Northway, Vermont, Gore Mountain, etc.

Sacandaga River Below Auger Falls
I had never been down in the gorge below Auger Falls, well at least from the East Side (bushwhack from Forks Mountain Trail).
I had walked along the Scanadaga River from the west side up Old Route 8A (now a snowmobile trail) but never hiked down from the east side all the way from the gorge. While the views are better from the west side, but from the east side (via Griffin) you almost never run into up there.

Looking forward to the snow melting and getting out camping once again. "Making a real smoke show as the sun sets on another damp afternoon at camp."
Camping Opporunities Along East Branch Sacanadaga River
While noisy at times, camping along the East Branch of Sacandaga River is my choice during the winter months and the shoulder season due to the fact that NY 8 is plowed year round, and if the snow isn't too deep, you can dig out a place to park.
