April 9, 2019 Night

Good evening! Partly cloudy and 47 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☁ There is a north-northwest breeze at 7 mph. πŸƒ. Today wasn’t a bad day, busy but reasonable. Got dark and cloudy for a while then nice around dusk πŸŒ† . Temperatures will drop below freezing at Thursday around 2 am. β˜ƒοΈ

I worked until seven o’clock today and then had to wait for the seven thirty bus home. 🚍 The bus was right on time and honestly I didn’t get out of the office right at seven o’clock and took a short stroll around West Capitol Park.

Cooked up some hot dogs in the microwave ♨ put on some ketchup and sat them in a bin with cheese and hot sauce. I then went for my evening walk. Not a half bad evening, I’m feeling a lot better today than yesterday. Peepers are out singing 🎢 their songs. 🐸

Tonight will be mostly cloudy πŸŒ₯, with a low of 36 degrees at 5am. One degree above normal, which is similiar to a typical night around April 11th. Northwest wind 6 to 10 mph. In 2018, we had cloudy in the evening, which became mostly sunny by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 27 degrees. The record low of 21 occurred back in 1974.

Tonight will have a Waxing Crescent Moon πŸŒ’ with 31% illuminated with the moon setting at 12:04 am. Kind of a pretty sliver of a moon tonight. The First Quarter Moon is on Thursday night with mostly clear skies. The Pink Moon 🌝 is on Thursday, April 18th. The sun will rise at 6:22 am with the first light at 5:53 am, which is one minute and 41 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ„ Tonight will have 10 hours and 50 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 50 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny 🌞, with a high of 50 degrees at 3pm. Six degrees below normal, which is similiar to a typical day around March 29th. Northwest wind 11 to 13 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny in the morning, which became partly cloudy by afternoon. The high last year was 47 degrees. The record high of 86 was set in 1922. 5.7 inches of snow fell back in 1961.❄

In four weeks on May 7 the sun will be setting at 8:02 pm,πŸŒ„ which is 31 minutes and 39 seconds later then tonight. In 2018 on that day, we had mostly sunny, patches of fog and temperatures between 69 and 50 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 67 and 44 degrees. The record high of 92 degrees was set back in 1930.

I am definitely looking forward to nicer weather come the autumn and spending more time in the wilderness. β›Ί Those days will be upon us before you know it. May really is only three weeks away. I may not get away camping Easter Weekend but I expect the weather will improve before you know it.

That Moss Island trip I’m thinking about taking this spring 🌸 sounds like a lot of fun during early to mid May. I always have liked that part of the Mohawk Valley.

I think I’m going to try twice daily, shorter blog posts again πŸ“although that will very from day to day.
