April 21, 2020 Night

Good evening! Partly clear and 36 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a west-northwest breeze at 15 mph. 🍃. At times though, it’s been pretty windy. Temperatures will drop below freezing at midnight. ☃ïļ

I worked at home today ðŸĄ and it was a pretty busy day although the mobile internet super flaky. ðŸ“ķI try to avoid using the work bandwidth as much as possible but it would not have been a nice day to work at Five Rivers or the library. Plus if I use my work laptop rather than my personal one, I don’t have to worry about formatting issues in Microsoft Word. 📝

This evening 🌃 it was pasta for dinner. ðŸē Tomorrow I may go to Wally World and the Car Wash with the bandana over my face. Rained hard midday but that doesn’t clean the undercarriage of Big Red 🚘 plus it’s been a week since my last big grocery shop and I’m a bit low on food. I thought some more about camping this weekend but I just was up north last weekend and I think I’ll wait another week or two for things to warm up and get greener. ðŸŒŋðŸŒąðŸŒ·I guess if it’s a nice enough evening and not super cold I could sit down by the river and work with a fishing pole ðŸŽĢ in one hand tomorrow.

Never showered or shaved ðŸšŋ today as there was no Zoom Meeting ðŸ“đ or reason to look nice for the world. 🌎 It was cold out at first for my evening walk ðŸšķ but once I got burning calories I didn’t feel real cold. That wind at times though sure is intense.

I do miss the library not being open for having the kiosks inside to quietly work on my laptop. 📚 While working in my truck on the blog is fine, I used to really enjoy having a block of time at the library to work on my blog using my laptop. ðŸ’ŧ I know eventually though we will get through the pandemic and the library will reopen but I hate how there is no time line. I just want this to be over, go back to work, ride the bus every day 🚍 and enjoy life in the basement office. ðŸĒ Some of the protests may be obnoxious but so many of us crave normalcy and our freedoms restored.

Tonight will have a slight chance of snow showers after 1am. Partly cloudy 🌧, with a low of 28 degrees at 6am. 12 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 23rd. West wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2019, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 51 degrees. The record low of 20 occurred back in 1947.

Tonight will have a New 🌚 Moon with 1% illuminated. The Flower 🌷 Moon is on Thursday, May 7. The darkest hour is at 12:55 am, followed by dawn at 5:35 am, and sun starting to rise at 6:05 am in the east-northeast (73°) and last for 3 minutes and 2 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 32 seconds earlier than yesterday. 🌄 The golden hour ends at 6:43 am with sun in the east (79°). Tonight will have 10 hours and 17 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 39 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny 🌞, with a high of 45 degrees at 4pm. 16 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 18th. Breezy, with a west wind 20 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 74 degrees. The record high of 86 was set in 1985. 1 inch of snow fell back in 1928.❄

Sounds like it will be miserably cold with the wind for Earth Day 🌎. But hopefully the sun will be nice for a while although I expect more clouds on Thursday into Friday. ☁ Just a late spring this year, the werid year of Coronavirus. Eventually the jet steam will push north and it will be like 80 or 90 degrees every day. I’ve heard it’s been that way already down in Missouri, at least on the Farm and Hammer ðŸ”Ļ cattle farmer channel I like on the YouTube ðŸŪ.

In four weeks on May 19 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (298°) at 8:15 pm,🌄 which is 30 minutes and 38 seconds later then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had mostly sunny, rain showers and temperatures between 86 and 49 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 70 and 48 degrees. The record high of 91 degrees was set back in 1989.

Looking ahead, Cinco de Mayo ðŸĪ  is in 2 weeks, Primary Day ðŸ—ģïļ is in 9 weeks, and Election Day 2020 ðŸ—ģïļ is in 28 weeks.

🇚ðŸ‡ļðŸĶ…Only 31 days remain until the start of Memorial Day Weekend!ðŸĶ…🇚ðŸ‡ļ
