Corn vs Hay-Pasture in Albany County. There is a lot of agriculture in Western half of Albany County. Yet due to it's upland nature, there is very little dairying and corn growing, with most farm operations instead primarily grazing or using cut hay.

Deciduous vs Coniferous Trees in NY State. I was quite surprised how dominate deciduous forests are in NY State. I expected to see far more of a balance then this map shows.

Hay and Pasture Across NY. Very little grazing or hay production occurs in the Adirondack Mountains or Tug Hill Plateau (except along the lake and Black River Valley), on Long Island (better suited for truck crops or other less land intensive uses in this expensive region), or in Northeastern Mountains (aka Adirondack Region) of our state.
