December 3, 2015 night

Good evening. Currently 40 degrees and partly clear this evening. Tonight mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph.

Tomorrow will be nice. Mostly sunny, with a high near 47. Light northwest wind becoming west 8 to 13 mph in the morning. Sunrise at 7:07 AM.

Went out to dinner with my parents and then to Capital Lights in the park. It was a nice evening. Good food at the Asian Tea House in Delmar. Packed to go camping this weekend in Madison County at the Cherry Ridge Camping Area at Charles Baker State Forest. I am mostly packed got food and gas. I have to make a few stops in the morning and hope to leave around 2 PM on Friday afternoon so to avoid driving US Route 20 after dark.

Got some mildew remover from the store and it’s really working miracles at controlling the mildew in my kitchen. Literally it’s changing the colors of the walls. I was about ready to give up on the mildew and just move out of my shitty little apartment in the suburbs but this seems to change things a lot. Suddenly my kitchen walls aren’t a dingy color with black spots in places.

Spray it on, scrub the worst spots, and wipe it off. I’ve tried bleach many times before to limited success but this is a miracle substance. Three bucks a bottle of it. I’m sure the mildew will grow back in the balmy summer weather but in the meantime it’s like night and day for cleaned areas.

I was at the point with the mildew of looking at new apartments or buying a house. But having a kitchen and bathroom free of mildew or at least heavily controlled makes me very happy. Mildew has been a problem at my apartment the whole eight years I lived here. I may buy a house in the next year or two but at least here I don’t have to suffer so badly with the mildew.

December 3, 2015 evening

Good evening. Currently 41 degrees and clear. Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low around 33. Northwest wind 7 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Traffic is moving slowly but surely on the old 787 heading out of the city. Creeping along. Eventually I’ll get home. It’s rush hour. I’m starting to think traffic has picked up a fair amount since the end of the recession.

December 3, 2015 morning

Good morning on this Thursday. It’s cloudy but mild for early December with temperatures in the range of 44 degrees. The rain has stopped but it’s possible that we can get showers throughout the morning. Winter is coming but it seems like with the high pressure in the air, it has been pushed off for a few weeks. But who knows, we might have a blizzard before you know it.

Later a chance of showers, mainly between noon and 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 45. West wind 13 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

As previously noted, I’ve been thinking of getting out of town this weekend,l because gas is cheap and I think roadside camping opporunties will deminish in the coming weeks with the certain snow that so far has been held off. The forecast is calling for temperatures in the mid-40s on Friday and low-50s on Sunday. I’m seriously contemplating leaving work at 2 PM on Friday so I can get most the way up to camp before darkness. I’m not crazy about driving rural roads in the dark during the rut.

Still working on getting PostGIS working on my laptop. The problem I’m having now is not all the columns names are matching up with the old versions so it’s not plug and play with all my existing QGIS layouts. But I’m sure I’ll eventually figure it out as I like map making.

I’m glad the sun will be coming out later today because lately the weather has been pretty dark and drab. The weekend forecast looks so nice for a change.
