Why I Go Camping Nearly Every Weekend
I love the open road, exploring new places, spending nights next to campfire drinking beer and cooking on my campstove.

I have done my share of winter camping this year, but nothing like this video.
"Join me on a bushcraft camp overnight in a debris shelter with Dustin from Bushcraft Tools and Haze Outdoors. We camp in the woods in a natural debris shelter made from logs and cedar boughs. We fire up the lanterns and build a log bench bushcraft style with an axe and saw. At night I sleep on deer hide beds with a wool blanket. This is part 1 of a 3 day camping trip. Part 2 is up next week!"
I am impressed by this camp, but I guess a lot of gear makes sense if you set up a deer camp for a whole season.
A brief chat on the tailgate of Big Red.
Yesterday, I was very impressed by that cabin on Thomas Mountain that the DEC plans to demolish. Granted I would want hot water and a shower and some solar panels for some 12 VDC lighting and maybe a small refigerator, but something that size would be perfect.
About two years ago I bought a Big Buddy Heater. It makes winter camping much more enjoyable, especially with hot tent camping.
