Good morning! Happy Saturday. Finally the weekend! Four weeks to Strugeon Moon ๐ . Partly cloudy and 74 degrees at the Five Rivers Environmental Education Center. ๐ฅ There is a south breeze at 15 mph. ๐. The dew point is 67 degrees. The skies will clear around 8 pm.
Hot day with the humidity ๐ฐ although truth be told, tomorrow will be even hotter. Waiting for the bus ๐ up to Thacher Park after walking ๐ถ๐ป out to Five Rivers. ๐ฆ. ๐ท Not wearing the mask much lately, I forgot it and had to run home. I can’t believe how hot it is out already.
Today will be mostly cloudy ๐ฅ, with a high of 84 degrees at 3pm. Two degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 67 at 10am. South wind 15 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. The high last year was 85 degrees. The record high of 99 was set in 1952.
The plan is to catch the next bus ๐ to Thacher Park ๐ and then go for a, walk ๐ถ๐ป up to Thompsons Lake, swim and cool off ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ – already getting hot. Then back to Thacher Park and lay back in the hammock. A lot of people already at Five Rivers, I like the quiet – maybe it will be quieter ๐คซ in the evening when all the kids ๐ง๐ป go home for dinner. Probably do an evening walk there too.
Solar noon ๐ is at 12:59 pm with sun having an altitude of 70.7ยฐ from the due south horizon (-0.1ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 2.1 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐ starts at 7:55 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (297ยฐ). ๐ธ The sunset is in the west-northwest (304ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 8:38 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 28 seconds with dusk around 9:12 pm, which is 2 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ The best time to look at the stars is after 9:58 pm. At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies ๐ and temperatures around 77 degrees. The dew point will be 67 degrees. There will be a south breeze at 13 mph. Today will have 15 hours and 17 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 21 seconds over yesterday.
Tonight will be mostly cloudy ๐ฅ, with a low of 71 degrees at 4am. 10 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 68 at 11pm. South wind 10 to 13 mph. In 2020, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became light rain by the early hours of the morning. It became somewhat humid as the night progressed. It got down to 61 degrees. The record low of 45 occurred back in 1970.
I suspect that this will be a tough night for sleeping ๐ด so I’ll have to use the fan although Sunday and Monday will worse. I might end up going to the office ๐ข the first half of the week just to beat the heat and get more in person hours in to keep the other directors happy ๐. So much pressure to get people back in the office now that COVID is over ๐ท ๐พ ๐ but the thing is everybody likes remote work ๐ป and things are getting done whether it’s from camp or a bedroom. ๐๐ป It falls on deaf ears.
Last night was cooler ๐ but I still needed the fan. โ I was out at the Town Park last night watching the wildlife and noticing that the deer ๐ฆ already starting to get good sized numbs as their antlers grow in. Autumn is rapidly approaching. All the farms are cutting hay ๐พ, you can smell the manure being applied to the fields now as the first cutting get racked and baled.
On this day in 1963, U.S. President John F. Kennedy gave his “Ich bin ein Berliner” speech, ๐ค underlining the support of the United States for democratic West Germany shortly after Soviet-supported East Germany erected the Berlin Wall. ๐ฉ๐ช Also, The Universal Product Code is scanned for the first time in 1974 to sell a package of Wrigley’s chewing gum at the Marsh Supermarket in Troy, Ohio. ๐ฌ
Yesterday was my counseling session and it went well, ๐จ๐ปโโ๏ธand I was feeling great after it until I realized how it was kind of a bummer. I really don’t like how my counselor keeps telling me that my problems are silly, and that because I’m not doing anything likely to cause significant harm โ I shouldn’t worry so much about my pyromanania. ๐ฅ You want to move out to the country, have a burn barrel ๐ข, livestock ๐ฎ, four wheelers ๐๏ธand lots of guns ๐ซ more power to you. Liking fire or being a conservative doesn’t make you mentally ill. Not harming any one, if your safe and not smoking out your neighbors.
I guess he’s right but I wanted to be pressured to have my views challenged and change. ๐ญ I guess ethically he can’t tell me to be an urban liberal Democrat who drives a Prisus, ๐ doesn’t eat meat ๐ฅฉ, advocates for gun control ๐ซ, and recycles rather than burns his garbage โป. I so wanted to be told I was terribly wrong, but I guess that’s not what a he can do. But I wish he would listen to me more and talk less. ๐ While I get that I’m paying for his advice I also feel that he should listen more and talk less.
He seems to want to move on to discussing my sometimes contrarian attitude ๐ but at this point I don’t know how much farther I want to continue. I’m $125 in the hole ๐ณ with co-pay now, and I feel like I’ve discussed all my deepist secrets. ๐คซ I’ve learned some things, reevaluated parts of my life. ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐พ Started to think about girl friends and settling down a bit. I’ve learned additional techniques to deal with my anxiety ๐ฏ and as winter became summer. ๐ I think I want to cancel my next session and reevaluate come autumn although I’ve scheduled an appointment a week from Friday but I could cancel as I’d rather be in the Adirondacks.
Looking ahead, there are 4 weeks until Strugeon Moon ๐ when the sun will be setting at 8:24 pm with dusk at 8:56 pm. On that day in 2020, we had humid, partly sunny and temperatures between 82 and 65 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 84 degrees. We hit a record high of 96 back in 1941.
May 26, 2021 Morning
Good morning! Happy Hump Day! ๐ช In the era of front wheel drive cars does anybody celebrate Hump Day anymore? ๐ Getting ready to catch the bus ๐ downtown for a day working in the old office ๐ข. Partly sunny and 68 degrees in Delmar, NY. ๐ค๏ธ There is a south breeze at 8 mph. ๐. The dew point is 63 degrees. A day of sweltering summer heat ended by violent โ and than a good stretch cool, low humidity weather although the Friday going into the Memorial Day Weekend looks like a good soaker. โ
Today will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Mostly sunny ๐, with a high of 88 degrees at 2pm. 14 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 65 at 10am. South wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Going to be a hot late May. Summer is coming although even though with the new climate normals that’s pretty toasty, with the mugginess. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. It was somewhat humid. The high last year was 90 degrees. The record high of 94 was set in 2010. There was a dusting of snow in 1953.โ
While the air conditioning is on the bus, โ it feels hot and muggy with the suit and tie with the mask.๐ท I can’t believe how uncomfortable wearing the muzzle truly is this morning. I wish they would lower the air conditioning even more on the bus but I’m not sure if that’s something the drivers control. I haven’t minded masks so much but now that I have to wear them going back and forth to work, a lot of days a work, it really isn’t that much fun. ๐จ๐ผ Maybe it’s not so bad when you are not in a shirt and tie for work.
I pulled the window shades down and got the fan set up so when I get home, although I might not get home until late, especially if I go over to Dan Van Riper’s place to continuing sorting and drying out John Wolcott’s papers. ๐ I know that Assemblyman Jack McEneny and some others is going to be continuing working over there today, but I can’t do this now because I have to work. But maybe this afternoon after work, although speaking to Dan one of issues is that none of the buildings they’re working in lacks light fixtures.
I am still a bit troubled about what I saw salvaging historical materials from Mr. Wolcott’s house prior to demolition. ๐ช It’s just a reminder how temporary and disposable all things are around us all. While I wondered when that fire ripped through the street in 2018, if things would be lost, it took another 3 years before a devastating fire destroyed much of what was in the house. Last night, I went out and bought a few SanDisk flash drives, so I could start backing up my files off site from my apartment in case of fire, tornado, building collapse, or other permanent evacuation. ๐พ You can say it won’t happen to you, but then when you smell that awful smell of a burnt house and a disjointed burnt out building, it seems to really hit. ๐ฉ๐ I know a lot of people store their files in the cloud, but I don’t have internet as an option, so I’ve been storing things on an external hard drive, which is good except if the building you are storing things is destroyed. I haven’t heard if Lynne has been able to recover the files.
Solar noon ๐ is at 12:53 pm with sun having an altitude of 68.6° from the due south horizon (-2.3° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 2.4 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐ starts at 7:41 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (294°). ๐ธ The sunset is in the west-northwest (301°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 8:22 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 21 seconds with dusk around 8:55 pm, which is 54 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ The best time to look at the stars is after 9:39 pm. At sunset, look for rain ๐ง and thunderstorms ๐ฉ and temperatures around 79 degrees. The dew point will be 61 degrees. There will be a west breeze at 9 mph. Today will have 14 hours and 58 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 35 seconds over yesterday.
Tonight will have showers and thunderstorms likely before midnight, then scattered showers. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy ๐ง, with a low of 58 degrees at 4am. Six degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around June 16th. Maximum dew point of 62 at 6pm. West wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. In 2020, we had mostly clear skies. It was humid. It got down to 68 degrees. The record low of 30 occurred back in 1969.
Cool this weekend with temperatures running 10 degrees below normal but otherwise sunny. ๐ Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 64. Maximum dew point of 36 at 7am. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 67. Maximum dew point of 42 at 8pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 75 degrees.
I am not sure what my weekend will look like. ๐ญ I have a feeling I might have to work this weekend, so I am less inclined to go to Adirondacks because working and camping ๐ is less fun then being totally off grid and doing lots of drinking and hanging out. Plus I really want a hot weekend I can spend down at the Potholers doing said things without the crowds. And as we get further into the June, the black flies taper off.
Looking ahead, there are 7 weeks until National Nude Day ๐ฑ when the sun will be setting at 8:31 pm with dusk at 9:05 pm. On that day in 2020, we had mostly sunny, thunderstorm and temperatures between 84 and 67 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 84 degrees. We hit a record high of 99 back in 1995.
April 26, 2021 10 AM Update
Good morning! Monday’s come back around again. Three weeks to Average High is 70 ๐ฎ. Mostly sunny and 41 degrees in Speculator, NY. Breezy, ๏ธ18 mph breeze from the northwest ๐ฌ with gusts up to 30 mph ๐จ๐จ๐จ. Kind of a cold start to the day, although warming up fast, but that breeze is nasty to say the least. Started out with a walk along the Spectulator Community Walk, but I was quite happy to return to my truck and get things started working from inside my truck, with the sun keeping me warm and comfortable, out of the wind.
Today will be sunny ๐, with a high of 55 degrees at 4pm. Eight degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 9th. Breezy, with a northwest wind 18 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. A year ago, we had light rain in the morning, which became light rain by afternoon. The high last year was 57 degrees. The record high of 90 was set in 1990. 0.3 inches of snow fell back in 1993.โ

Today will have 13 hours and 57 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 41 seconds over yesterday.
Tonight will be mostly clear ๐, with a low of 33 degrees at 5am. Eight degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 5th. Northwest wind 11 to 16 mph decreasing to 5 to 10 mph after midnight. In 2020, we had light rain in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. January 26, 2021 Morning
Good morning! Happy Tuesday. ๐ Not a Friday, but if I look at the calendar, it can’t be that far away. Ready for some nuisance snow this evening? But maybe there is hope. Probably not though, he’s going to see his shadow based on the forecast. Next Tuesday is Ground Hog Day ๐ป . Mostly cloudy and 19 degrees in Delmar, NY. ๐ค Calm wind. There are 0.5 inches of snow on the ground but more is coming. โ ๏ธThe skies will clear Thursday around 10 am. And be cold!
Sunny and decently warm for the morning walk ๐ถ๐ป. I was kind of groggy this morning but I put some English muffins in the oven and had my coffee โ. Feeling better now I am out for my morning walk. Running a little late today but it will be fine. Things will get done and I have my phone.
Still kind of devastated at some level about the death of Mr Frantz my High School social studies and history teacher. ๐ข Seventy one seems pretty young to die, although I guess it is are living through a pandemic and only the good die young. ๐จ๐ปโ๐ซ Been two decades though since I last saw him and I guess time moves on. I always thought he was a lot older for sure. He was such a good teacher and so influential on who I became.
Landlord and the plumber came by later in the afternoon, ๐ง and with some grinding, acetylene torches setting off the smoke detector, and other distractions while I worked in my virtual office, things got fixed. Apparently the old water heater had been leaking for some time, and the leaking water in the overflow drain pipe had frozen which caused it it to overflow and fall into my living room. The landlord the past two times had gotten these really cheap Whirlpool heaters, but finally got a better quality one or so the plumber told me. At least I was happy that wasn’t that big of a deal and got fixed. ๐๐ป
Today will snow, mainly after 2pm. ๐จ High of 28 degrees at 1pm. Three degrees below normal. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. A year ago, we had light drizzle in the morning, which became cloudy by afternoon. The high last year was 43 degrees. The record high of 59 was set in 1950. 8.5 inches of snow fell back in 1949.โ
Yesterday would have been a good day to go down to the library ๐ with the free unlimited internet because snow ๐จ this afternoon and much colder the second half of the week. The sun โ is nice today but I don’t expect it to last long with snow coming. I guess it’s fine, I had backed up my blog on Thursday. If there is a video I want to watch I can do it on my phone. Used a bit more Hotspot data than I would have hoped yesterday scrolling ๐ through Twitter while the plumber was there. I’m glad though that I got the issues fixed with the corrupt SSH keys yesterday so I can do all the necessary things on the blog.
Solar noon ๐ is at 12:09 pm with sun having an altitude of 28.8ยฐ from the due south horizon (-42.1ยฐ vs. 6/21). At sunset, look for snow ๐จ and temperatures around 28 degrees. There will be a east-southeast breeze at 5 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 46 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 9 seconds over yesterday.
Tonight will snow. ๐จ Low of 26 degrees at 12am. 11 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around March 14th. East wind around 5 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. In 2020, we had light drizzle in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 35 degrees. The record low of -23 occurred back in 1994.
Cool this weekend with temperatures running 10 degrees below normal but otherwise sunny. ๐ Saturday, sunny, with a high near 18. Sunday, partly sunny, with a high near 24. Typical average high for the weekend is 31 degrees.
๐น๐ป๐ผOnly 53 days remain until the first day of calendar spring!๐น๐ป๐ผ I count the days down each day. For whatever you think of the winter, the sun angle is getting stronger and days will get warmer. The sun is shining and it’s much nicer than even a few weeks ago. We are actively beyond the coldest time of the year now.
As previously noted, next Tuesday is Ground Hog Day ๐ป when the sun will be setting at 5:10 pm with dusk at 5:40 pm. On that day in 2020, we had partly cloudy, snow showers and temperatures between 37 and 28 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 32 degrees. We hit a record high of 53 back in 1981.
December 26, 2020 Morning
Good morning! Happy Boxing Day ๐ฅ! Rednecks ๐จ๐ปโ๐พ everywhere gotta burn those gotta burn those boxes ๐ฆ and wrapping paper ๐ to keep it out of the landfill ๐ฅ and have fun. Two weeks to Static Electric Shock Day ๐งผ. Definitely gets dry in winter, especially on a cold day on the carpeting in the office.
Partly cloudy and 26 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ Very cloudy to start out the day, but more sun now. I’d say the day is improving, but still quite a bit of slippery ice around. There is a southwest breeze at 11 mph. ๐. The current wind chill is 15. There is a dusting of snow on the ground and on the untreated pavement but let’s be honest, snowman had a meltdown on Christmas Eve. โ ๏ธThings will start to thaw out at tomorrow around noontime. ๐ก๏ธ
Much sunnier today but cold โ. Gray up north I was told. So I’m staying home. Yesterday I mostly stayed home and read ๐ and worked on some coding and other projects for the blog. I was hoping to get get out of town but it rained all afternoon and when I was ready to go fi my evening walk it turned out all wet and sloppy. โฝ By it being warm yesterday I saved by keeping the heat off ๐ด and I won’t need to burn the fuel for camping.
Today will be partly sunny ๐, with a high of 31 degrees at 1pm. Two degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical West wind 10 to 15 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning, remaining cloudy in the afternoon. The high last year was 41 degrees. The record high of 59 was set in 1895. 13.9 inches of snow fell back in 1969.โ
While at one point I had ambitious plans for the weekend, ๐ถ I think I will likely just end up going for a nice walk out to Five Rivers mid-day. ๐ฆ That is, once the ice is off the sidewalks whic I think will happen with the sun. ๐ The days are pretty short now, and the weather looks like it will be cloudy but cold up north. ๐ Will I be able to get up north next weekend, for the New Years holiday? Doesn’t look good but then again, it’s rare when the stars align for winter camping — it’s either depressing cloudy, too snowy, or super cold and clear during most of the winter. So is life in Upstate NY. ๐ฐ
But it’s good to save money as the end of the month is coming, rent and my credit card bill is due, so many is tight. ๐ซ I really try to live paycheck to paycheck, as my checking account earns no interest, and having no money in any my account keeps me spending less. ๐ณ It’s rare that I have more then $40 in my wallet. Worked well until late November when my direct deposit got interrupted and I was glaring at the checking account with the number dropping much too close to zero.
Solar noon ๐ is at 11:57 am with sun having an altitude of 24ยฐ from the due south horizon (-46.8ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 13.4 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. Starting to gain a bit of sun altitude, slowly though. The golden hour ๐ starts at 3:43 pm with the sun in the southwest (230ยฐ). ๐ธ The sunset is in the west-southwest (238ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 4:29 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 25 seconds with dusk around 5:00 pm, which is 40 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ At dusk you’ll see a nearly Full ๐ Moon in the east (93ยฐ) at an altitude of 31ยฐ from the horizon, 251,186 miles away. ๐ The best time to look at the stars is after 5:36 pm. At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies ๐ and temperatures around 30 degrees. There will be a west-southwest breeze at 10 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 3 minutes of daytime, an increase of 21 seconds over yesterday.
Tonight will be partly cloudy ๐ค, with a low of 20 degrees at 6am. Three degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around December 20th. Maximum wind chill around 18 at 6pm; Southwest wind 7 to 10 mph. In 2019, we had light snow in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 40 degrees. The record low of -18 occurred back in 1914. A little cool but shouldn’t be bad for the evening walk.
Tomorrow I might go out to the Wolf Hill Preserve and do some hiking there. ๐ถI don’t really feel like going too far from home and it’s been a while since I’ve been there. I don’t expect much more then a dusting of snow and except for one or two parts, I can’t imagine that trail will be super wet up there. Next weekend maybe I’ll go up to the Adirondacks ๐ — all week looks pretty warm and sunny, and while there is a New Years Day/Eve storm to watch, I’ll have to see how things work out timing wise for next weekend. I could also go out to Madison County if they don’t have a lot of snow out there — as it looks like if anything most of the residual snow will disappear this week.
Been continuing to read various books on GIS and also the Foxfire Books. ๐ I actually like reading books on my phone, it’s small and easy to handle. It has web access and is easy to download and load things, although for some books that print is pretty small. I am trying to invest more time in reading and learning, I spend too much time flipping through Facebook looking at cute pictures of Jersey calves ๐ฎ and Kune Kune hogs. ๐ท I am actually learning a lot more about the practice of mapping making — stuff I had picked up by practice but I didn’t have a formal, structured way to look at it. ๐บ
I am not finding any digital terrain models, that show tree canopy ๐ฒ๐ณ and building heights made up as digital elevation models, but it looks like I could derive that information from the LSZ LiDAR files but I am not sure if it’s worth downloading the 500 MB plus tiles, then a bunch of time running CPU process to get the data. It looks like there are open source tools to do this, but they’re not super well documented and it’s area I don’t know much about. ๐งโ๐ซThe DTM data is pretty neat, especially for making 3D models, and could make for some interesting maps comparing tree height to ground elevation (digital surface model or bare-earth models that are common and available in normal LiDAR DEM files). For example, are trees shorter at the top of the peaks compared below them? It seems like they have DTM data in the LSZ files for much of state, but I think I’ll hold off from now on addressing.
I also need to work on my budget for next year. ๐ I think it will pretty much stay the same as this year, but I need to figure out if I do the Roth or regular IRA this year. I pay so much in taxes, but I think this year it probably makes more sense to go back to the Roth. I am continuing to look for ways to trim things so I can invest and save more going forward. But honestly I am pretty content with my simple way of living, and knowing that in a few years if I want to buy land, I’ll be able to pay cash, and I will have enough money saved for retirement (if I stay the course for the rest of the decade). ๐๏ธ Still thinking of eventually buying an off-grid property, maybe an old hunting camp or otherwise run down house out in the country, where I have enough land where I can do what I want and nobody is going to care if I have noisy or smell livestock ๐ท or have bonfires, ๐ฅ, ride ATVs, shoot guns ๐ซ or burn trash.โป It’s just a matter of having the resources, and that takes time to save. I want to do it right and have the resources all lined out and planned first.
The hotspot on my phone is working good, ๐ถ and I have enough data for reasonable amounts of web browsing, as long as I don’t do a lot of streaming or downloads of big GIS data. I still will probably go down to the library on nice days to get bigger files, but I should be set for working from home during the winter, and because it’s mobile I can take it other places if we have nice winter weather and I decide to do some traveling. It’s a lot cheaper and more flexible then having a wired connection. That said, as soon as the vaccine is out and I’m working back downtown, I will go back to the normal cell plan.๐ฑ I’d rather dump that expense from my budget, and I actually like the walk down to the library after work.๐
As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Static Electric Shock Day ๐งผ when the sun will be setting at 4:40 pm with dusk at 5:12 pm. On that day in 2020, we had partly sunny and temperatures between 30 and 13 degrees. Cold yes. But then spring comes. Typically, the high temperature is 30 degrees. We hit a record high of 62 back in 2008.
November 26, 2020 Night
Good evening! Foggy ๐ and 49 degrees in Delmar, NY. Calm wind. ๏ธTemperatures will drop below freezing at Sunday around 4 am. โ๏ธ
It was a nice Thanksgiving ๐ฆ with the family. Small little thing but it was nice to spend some time with them before the lock down. ๐ The COVID numbers are looking bad all around but hopefully when the vaccine starts flowing in a couple of weeks the tied will be stemmed. Social distancing may help but it’s really hard to avoid all human contact even when working from home. Got home and did my evening walk ๐ถ๐ป and sat out back for a while.
Tonight will have patchy fog. Otherwise, mostly cloudy , with a low of 43 degrees at 2am. 15 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around October 7th. Light and variable wind. In 2019, we had light rain in the evening, which became light snow by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 31 degrees. The record low of 8 occurred back in 1957.
