For a couple of blocks, Interstate 86 in Waverly dips south of the New York State line into Pennsylvania. The highway is covered by a compact with Pennsylvania, that allows for NYS Police Patrols and NYS DOT maintenance, although felonies and fatal collisions are investigated by Pennsylvania police.
