Deposit is a town in Delaware County, New York, United States. As of the 2010 census, the town's population was 1,712. The town of Deposit is on the western border of the county. The town name was derived from the deposits of logs made by lumber men, prior to forming rafts to float down the Delaware River usually to Philadelphia.
