October 2, 2017 Morning
Good morning! Monday’s come back around again. Next Monday is Columbus Day.Β God willing, I’ll be in West Virginia. I think I have the trip planned out well. Mostly sunny and 41 degrees in Delmar. Calm wind.
I woke up this morning quite well rested after retiring under the red light by 9:45, drawing the curtains and lights out by ten. Woke up briefly during the middle of the night and then around 6:30 to hear the news. Definitely a beautiful day out, although not a lot of colors yet. Pleasant walking down to the express bus. Some light traffic heading into the city. It should be a really nice day.
Today will be sunny, with a high of 69 degrees at 3pm. Four degrees above normal. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon. A year ago, we had cloudy skies. The high last year was 63 degrees. The record high of 85 was set in 1927. There was a dusting of snow in 1899.
The sun will set at 6:33 pm with dusk around 7:01 pm, which is one minute and 45 seconds earlier than yesterday. At sunset, look for clear conditions and 65 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Today will have 11 hours and 39 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 2 minutes and 52 seconds over yesterday. Autumn is well underway.
Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low of 44 degrees at 6am. Typical for tonight. Calm wind. In 2016, we had cloudy skies. It got down to 57 degrees. The record low of 29 occurred back in 1945.
As previously noted, next Monday is Columbus Day when the sun will be setting at 6:21 pm with dusk at 6:50 pm. On that day in 2016, we had rain, drizzle, cloudy skies and temperatures between 60 and 46 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 63 degrees. We hit a record high of 83 back in 1949.
