April 14, 2017 7 AM Update
Good morning on this Good Friday. Two weeks to Arbor Day. Sunny and 42 degrees in Delmar, NY. Calm wind. Warming up quickly after a relatively cold mid April morning. It is expected to have some very good weather on this Friday morning. Less nice for Saturday into Easter morning.
Today will be sunny, with a high of 62 degrees at 4pm. Four degrees above normal. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the morning. A year ago, we had sunny skies and a high of 58 degrees. The record high of 83 was set in 1968. 1.4 inches of snow fell back in 1950.
The sun will set at 7:37 pm with dusk around 8:06 pm, which is one minute and 8 seconds later than yesterday. Today will have 13 hours and 23 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 46 seconds over yesterday.
Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low of 35 degrees at 5am. Two degrees below normal. Calm wind. In 2016, it got down to 32 degrees under clear skies. The record low of 21 occurred back in 1940.
As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until Arbor Day when the sun will be setting at 7:53 pm with dusk at 8:23 pm. On that day in 2016, we had mostly cloudy skies and temperatures between 58 and 35 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 64 degrees. We hit a record high of 92 back in 1990.
Going to have breakfast next, then fix the wire on the control module for the low voltage disconnect. Remove the thin wire and conduit running back to the truck cap. Run new thicker line to cap. Hook up lights to new switches. Buy new marine battery at Walmart. Test things. Get camping gear out. Get it checked out and start getting things ready to go.
