Good evening! Mostly cloudy and 32 degrees in Delmar. There is a northwest breeze at 8 mph. The skies will clear tomorrow around 5 pm. And get very cold. Winter like with steep windchills. I bet they have heat at Center Square Pub if I go there tomorrow after work.
Tonight will snow likely, mainly after 5am. The snow could be heavy at times. Cloudy, with a low of 24 degrees at 6am. Six degrees above normal. North wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. In 2016, it got down to 23 degrees with periods of snow. The record low of -20 occurred back in 1934.
Waxing Gibbous Moon tonight with 87% illuminated. The moon will set around 6:58 am. The Full βSnowβ Moon is on Saturday night with mostly cloudy then chance of snow. The sun will rise at 6:59 am with the first light at 6:30 am, which is 1 minutes and 16 seconds earlier then yesterday. Tonight will have 13 hours and 39 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 34 seconds over last night.
Tomorrow will snow, mainly before 1pm. The snow could be heavy at times. High of 24 degrees at 6am. 10 degrees below normal. Blustery, with a north wind 8 to 13 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
The amount of precipitation on this storm are relatively modest, far less than last night’s rain but the snow will be very fluffy with the mercury hovering around 22 degrees in the morning. Blowing snow. Very bitterly cold windchills when the storm passes by, might have enough moisture and cold in the air for another two inches come late Friday. A year ago tomorrow, we had snow and a high of 32 degrees. The record high of 57 was set in 1925. 13.7 inches of snow fell back in 1906.
Not a particularly nice weekend on tap. Saturday, a chance of light snow before noon, then a chance of snow showers, mainly between noon and 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 36. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Sunday, snow likely before 10am, then rain and snow likely between 10am and 1pm, then rain likely after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 39. Chance of precipitation is 60%.Typical average high for the weekend is 34 degrees.
In four weeks on March 8 the sun will be setting at 5:54 pm, which is 35 minutes later then tonight. In 2016 on that day, we had mostly cloudy skies and temperatures between 60 and 32 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 41 and 23 degrees. The record high of 68 degrees was set back in 2012.
