“Well I hope that new Supreme Court Justice that Donald John Trump has appointed allows private citizens to sue the Ground Hog should he predict six more weeks of winter. Because I tell you those sidewalks down to the Park and Ride were dang icy. Just think of all those old Italian ladies slipping and falling. I like dipping those little Italian cookies in my coffee.”
The sidewalks in Delmar are plowed but not sanded which means there is glaze of ice on them this morning. Mostly coudy and 28 degrees in Delmar, NY. Occasionally spots of sun and blue skies to the south. There is a southwest breeze at 10 mph. Some clearing but not a lot but with the mercury pushing 41 degrees, it will largely melt the snow off the sidewalks. The skies will clear around 7 pm.
The sun will set at 5:10 pm with dusk around 5:39 pm, which is 1 minutes and 19 seconds later than yesterday. Today will have 10 hours and 1 minutes of daylight, an increase of 2 minutes and 23 seconds over yesterday.
Tonight will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 23 degrees at 6am. Eight degrees above normal. West wind 6 to 11 mph. In 2016, it got down to 29 degrees under partly clear skies. The record low of -18 occurred back in 1961.
One month from now now is March 1st when the sun will be setting at 5:46 pm with dusk at 6:14 pm. The average high temperature is 32 degrees, with a record high of 61 in 1895.
