January 27, 2017 8 AM Update
A gray Friday morning in Trump’s America. Not a terrible morning walk down to the express bus although somehow I managed to misplace my keys until I found them. I had to walk a little faster than usual but I always build a little extra time into my schedule, so I made it down to the express bus.
Thirty-nine degrees this morning with some snow flurries. Near constant temperature today, maybe it will go up a degree or two should the sun come out for a few minutes.
Feeling well rested this morning because I made sure to take a sleeping pill last night right when I got home from the library and then I drew my curtains and turned on the red light which made for good sleeping, asleep before ten and not awake until quarter of seven.
The sun will set at 5:03 pm with dusk around 5:33 pm, which is 1 minute and 18 seconds later than yesterday. Today will have 9 hours and 50 minutes of daylight, an increase of 2 minutes and 13 seconds over yesterday.
Tonight will have a slight chance of snow showers before 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low of 28 degrees at 6am. 13 degrees above normal. West wind 11 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2016, it got down to 16 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. The record low of -16 occurred back in 2005.
Looking ahead, there are 7 weeks until St. Patrick’s Day when the sun will be setting at 7:05 pm with dusk at 7:33 pm (Daylight Savings Time). On that day in 2016, we had fog, rain, thunderstorm and temperatures between 61 and 38 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 45 degrees. We hit a record high of 75 back in 1990.
