Happy Friday! The weekend can’t be too far away, or so it appears. Today I expect to be insane at work, because by defination, Fridays are always nuts where I work. Going to rain a lot today and tonight, so I am not leaving town until at least Saturday. Still thinking of heading out to Schoharie to do some hiking, fishing, and camping.

It looks like Moose River Plains will be open for Memorial Day Weekend. We will see what the weather is like and what my work schedule is like. It would be nice to get away a couple  days, as this spring has been crazy with work.

Drove in yesterday, as the Save the Pine Bush hike was scheduled for the evening, and I knew I would be in the office until fairly late, so I drove in. I knew parking and getting out of downtown might be challenging due to the Corporation Challenge Race, so I decided to park on Washington Avenue. To my surprise, due to nighttime parking restrictions, the street was relatively free of cars. Getting out in the traffic wasn’t too bad, and a snuck over the back streets to avoid traffic.

Made it up to the Albany Pine Bush Preserve around 6:30 PM. The rain had let up, and hiked up to Overlook Dune. Nice evening but it sure was humid. Cloudy, and the earlier rain in the evening scared everybody else. I waited until 7:10 PM, and after nobody showed up, decided it was safe to cancel the hike. Went down to the Bethlehem Library for a bit, picking up the two books I got on trapping.
