Good morning! Happy Daylight Savings Time ๐ŸŒ‡

๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒผNext Sunday is the first day of calendar spring!๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒผ

I know that’s a pretty meaningless phrase ๐Ÿ’ญ but at least on the Tiktok you can watch all the videos of the cows getting let out to pasture and grazing down south. ๐Ÿฎ But we will still be in the frozen tundra up north,  although this week doesn’t look that bad.

Sunny and 20 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜€ There is a west-northwest breeze at 14 mph. ๐Ÿƒ with gusts up to 25 mph ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’จ. The current wind chill is 7. There are 6 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธThings will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 9 am probably for the bulk of the week and kill off most of the snow. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

Decided to set my alarm โฐ for six 6โƒฃ am and have breakfast at the normal time and go for my morning walk ๐Ÿšถ like I do most weekdays. I didn’t want to break my habit of being an early riser with the time change. Plus tomorrow is going to be quite mild โ˜€ and I want to go out for a walk tomorrow before I go to work as I expect a late night at work. ๐ŸŒƒ

Traffic is basically non existent at seven 7โƒฃ o’clock on a Sunday morning. ๐ŸŒ… The air is so nice and crisp, the skies are a deep blue. It’s cold but lacks the bite of a true winter’s day. Red winged black birds ๐Ÿฆ are back in mass. The sun has gotten the birds up and awake, even if it is cold.

I cleaned off my truck, ๐Ÿ›ป and now just waiting for the sun to clean it up. ๐Ÿ˜Ž I used my landlords shovel to clean off around my truck, I still haven’t gotten a new snow shovel. But I have a feeling this is the last snowstorm of the winter, and it wasn’t that significant. Guarantees a late March or April blizzard, but I big jacked up truck with a drinking problem, that I can break through the snow bank with. Or that little camp shovel I used to bury shit ๐Ÿ’ฉ and dig through the fire pit for any unburnt garbage to recycle. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

I plan to go to Five Rivers later to go skiing. โ›ท I could go out to Partridge Run or somewhere farther away but I’m not willing to put gas in my truck. Gas prices have come down a bit the past few days, but I’m in no rush to fuel up or burn gas before I need to. Summer is coming, and I’d rather save the fuel for times when I can be floating down that lazy river โšซ in my tube, drinking cheap beer and maybe eating clams. ๐Ÿ•น I was going to go skiing yesterday, but it was so cold with that wind, so I decided to stay home and inside where it’s at least somewhat warm. โ™จ๏ธ I did use the space heater more yesterday then I probably should have, but I probably will turn off the heat before work tomorrow for the rest of the week. If it’s cold, I’ll have my heated blanket.

I am just there will be that additional time in the evening ๐ŸŒ‡ as I felt that walking home from the express was a bit dangerous at rush hour ๐Ÿš˜ ๐Ÿšถ in the dark plus I found it hard to get out for my evening walk even at seven o’clock in the cold and dark. Plus if there is a nice weekend it makes it easier to get out of town, assuming gas is still somewhat affordable. โ›ฝ

This week I want to try to get to the car wash again, ๐Ÿšฟ I know it’s winter and it’s tough, and get groceries. I might have to breakdown and get fuel. The last time I put gas in my truck, fuel was still around $3.70 a gallon. Remember those good ol’ days. โ›ฝ I don’t use that much gas in the winter, but I still like to go out to the folks house on Sunday and get groceries once a week. ๐Ÿ‘ƒ Come nicer weather though, I’ll just have to hold my nose and gas ‘er up I guess. And take advantage of the free bus out to Thacher Park once that restarts up out in June.
