Good Morning – January 14, 2022
Good morning! Yeah, it’s Friday!
Cloudy and 28 degrees heading downtown on the express bus. β There is a north-northwest breeze at 6 mph. π. There is a dusting of snow on the ground. β Things will start to thaw out at Monday around noontime. π‘οΈ
This morning is quite mild but the mercury is expected to drop and the wind pick up later. β Going to be another cold evening with the wind whipping around. I left the kitchen cabinets open and made sure the door πͺ was secure before leaving but decided to skip turning the heat back up before I get home from work. Tonight I’ll turn it back up though.
Looks like the Hudson River is icing up today. π First time I’ve seen that in a few years but then again the past two years were mostly remote. That said, I don’t think the wind chill will freeze the river quicker and it will be above freezing by next week. After the snow on Monday, which I think might be more rain than anything else.
With the LOB being closed π to the public with the COVID, and them checking IDs extra careful today π I’m starting to think that I might not want to get off at the Concourse bus stop and go through that way. Probably safer to walk πΆ outside at any rate. I usually do most of my walking outside anyways because I’m no fan of wearing the muzzle while walking. π·
It is definitely a bit chilly walking πΆ on the Plaza today with that wind π. But I know tomorrow and even today is going to be hard to get in my steps with the cold. π£ As much as I hate strapping on the muzzle I might go down to the library π. I wouldn’t mind getting out some books.
I see they finished taking down the State Christmas Tree π. Yesterday they were taking down the lights and today they finished chipping it up. I guess that’s a sign the holiday season is done. I still have the holiday lights up in my office, I could put them away but they add a lot of color on dreary cold days like today.
