Good Morning – December 8, 2021
Good morning! What day is it? New Tires for Big Red Day, of course. π»
So far no snow but I might run into some going to the shop but hopefully not. The tires will get on today, and then hopefully the shock bushing replaced. Friday Red gets inspected and then I should be fully back on the road again.
Cloudy and 28 degrees in Delmar, NY. π«οΈ Calm wind. Things will start to thaw out at around 10 am. π‘οΈ
Nuisance snow today π¨ but I am not sure how much it will actually be with temperatures expected to reach 37 by afternoon. And then the fifties by the weekend.
I am glad I’m getting Big Red’s new tires today. π» Sometimes I think I could have gone longer as some of the tires have tread remaining but they also have a lot of cracks and rot in the tread, something that is growing exponentially with the cold, and I don’t want a blow out. My local shop has been warning β me about this for a while. The truth is tires I get now will last the life of the vehicle, so waiting just means I’ll get less use out of the new tires. Friday is the inspection, and then I should be back on the road by Saturday is my hope. βΊ
I am moved into my new office π’ upstairs, and it’s pretty with the Christmas lights and the brass desk lamp. π€Ά Views aren’t great as the old one but I like making more money π΅ as it means that I can save more for a better tomorrow. I do like the layout of the new office a lot – the desk faces the door so I can see when people are walking in plus it’s a private office so I can make calls or deal with personnel issues without having to run into some one else’s office. πͺ
I am increasingly thinking π about taking off the week leading up to Christmas π . Depending on the forecast I might go out to the Finger Lakes for a week βΊ or the Adirondacks for part of a week. At this point I have to plan carefully as snow π¨ is a risk but not that great if the long range models prove to be true. LA Nina winter in a warming planet π.
