Good Morning – October 28, 2021
Good morning! Happy Thursday. β
Looks like it’s going to be a nice one after a cold start this morning with temperatures heading into the upper fifties by afternoon.
It’s cloudy and 43 degrees in Delmar, NY. βοΈ There is a north-northwest breeze at 5 mph. π. Cool but not unreasonable for late October.
I decided against taking today off in favor of Monday π as I needed to ensure coverage for my department and because I figured a four day weekend would be nicer – I might even head out of town.
Realized that I grabbed the wrong mask π· heading down to the bus so I’m not color coordinated but so be it. Good to rotate things a bit.
Last night I went to Walmart and got food πͺ and supplies. I also got some more weatherstripping to further snug up my door πͺ in preparation for the cold winter weather that is just around the corner. I am trying to stop as many air leaks as possible.
The tires have been ordered for my truck π but they are on back order. I ended up going with the General Grabber ATX, as they were a significantly more affordable option – like $400 less than then the Nitto Terras – and my truck is getting old. π€ If they remain unavailable come mid month I might get BFGs but they’re more expensive and not as highly recommended on TireRack. β« The BFGs look nice but in my experience not the greatest tires ever.
I took off the second week of November βΊ for probably going out to the Finger Lakes National Forest to hunt π° πΏοΈand camp but I might also spend some time exploring the World’s End State Park and Loyalstock State Forest while I’m on vacation. πΈ I think West Virginia is too far with current gas prices. β½
It might snow π¨ and be cold by then, but I could always hot tent πͺ and use my heater then. It certainly looks like it might be a pretty cold week. Potomac Road is plowed in the winter. Or I guess I could do some skiing πΏ and shorter trips. Nothing is set in stone yet besides the days off.
