March 17, 2021 Morning

Good morning! Happy St. Patrick’s Day πŸ€ ! Better celebrate it before they ban the holiday for being racist white pride holiday. I bet that’s the kind of thing James Howard Kunstler or some kind of conservative would say. But it’s fun to live in an imaginary world, because so many people do these days on social media, both on the right and left.. Three weeks to 7:30 PM Sunset πŸŒ‡ . Mostly cloudy and 33 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☁ It is dreary this morning but mild. Not really at all cold when I went out earlier to get milk Calm wind. Temperatures will drop below freezing at Friday around 2 am. β˜ƒοΈ

Today will be partly sunny 🌞, with a high of 51 degrees at 5pm. Six degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around March 30th. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning, which became partly cloudy by afternoon. The high last year was 51 degrees. Kind of like a repeat of today but in reverse – sun in the morning and clouds in the afternoon, during day 3 of the lockdown a year ago. That said, I didn’t feel that locked down, as I spent most of my time working down at the library parking lot or Five Rivers, which is better then being stuck in my bedroom. Guess where I plan to work today? Going to be a great spring day when the sun returns. The record high of 75 was set in 1990. 4.1 inches of snow fell back in 1982.❄

Solar noon 🌞 is at 1:05 pm with sun having an altitude of 46.2Β° from the due south horizon (-24.6Β° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 5.8 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour πŸ… starts at 6:27 pm with the sun in the west (263Β°). πŸ“Έ The sunset is in the west (269Β°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 7:05 pm after setting for 2 minutes and 54 seconds with dusk around 7:32 pm, which is one minute and 10 seconds later than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the First Quarter πŸŒ“ Moon in the west-southwest (251Β°) at an altitude of 41Β° from the horizon, 252,258 miles away. πŸš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 8:06 pm. At sunset, look for partly cloudy skies πŸŒƒ and temperatures around 47 degrees. There will be a south breeze at 6 mph. Today will have 12 hours and one minute of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 54 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy πŸŒ₯, with a low of 37 degrees at 4am. 11 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 13th. South wind around 6 mph. In 2020, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 30 degrees. The record low of -8 occurred back in 1900.

A picture perfect weekend on tap. 😎 Saturday, sunny, with a high near 49. Sunday, sunny, with a high near 57. Typical average high for the weekend is 46 degrees. While the weather looks nice, I am still not sure if I will go up north. There is still a ton of snow — I will re-evaluate after the rainstorm but I don’t want to deal with a foot of wet sloppy snow up in the mountains. I am still leaning towards Good Friday – Easter being. I also want to see if I hear that noise I heard briefly from the truck the other day before heading out of town. I’m really leaning towards the squeak just being the truck cap flexing with the window not fully locked driving on that extremely windy day.

🌹🌻🌼Only 3 days remain until the first day of calendar spring!🌹🌻🌼 Saturday is the big day, and it certainly will feel like it. But lots of mud with all that rain on Thursday.

As previously noted, there are 3 weeks until 7:30 PM Sunset πŸŒ‡ when the sun will be setting at 7:28 pm with dusk at 7:57 pm. On that day in 2020, we had partly cloudy, rain showers and temperatures between 65 and 42 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 55 degrees. We hit a record high of 87 back in 2010.
