Good morning! Happy Friday January 22, 2021
Good morning! Happy Friday. We made it through another week in January, one week closer to spring with all the mud, muck and black flies. π One week until my 38th birthday. Happy birthday to me, π one year closer to owning more guns, land and bigger fires at my off-grid property. Save one buck at a time. The digital weather model is down again today, but it is clear this morning, right at the freezing point. π
Not too cold this morning, although I didn’t turn the heat down much before bed. I decided to do more Bisquick biscuits this morning for with my coffee. β They have ham and cheese baked into them. Nice morning, and not that drowsy despite taking a sleeping pill last night.π€ Lately it’s not been neccesary but I decided to take one because I’ve been waking up unnecessarily early.
A pleasant morning for the walk πΆπ». Some blue sky but it’s disappearing. I can’t complain that much, as after all it is still January. I think I’ll work from home π‘ today as I have plenty of bandwidth to use up before Monday and now with the VPN I don’t need to go to the office for files π. I do wish I could be working up in the woods but ita kind of cold and snowy this time of year.πThe express bus station remains perfectly preserved, ready to spring to life some time in the future when pandemic ends. 8:26 will roll around at some point in the future, the transmission clunk and he barreling down to the Empire State Plaza.
Rain showers possibly today, but also some blue skies at times with a high around maybe 37 degrees. β 9:37 minutes of daylight today, we’re starting slowly but surely to get more daylight each day.π Sunset at 4:56 PM and dusk around 5:27 which means the days are getting longer, step by step. 16,788 people in Albany County have had the Corona according to the health department. π€ Well over 5% at this point.
Tonight will some clouds but mostly clear under a big bright moon. πA few flurries or snow showers possible. Low 17F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph. Kind of cool night, under waxing gibbous with 61% of the moon illuminated, setting at 1:46 AM or somewhere around then depending on your view of skyline. π The Wolf Moon is officially one day before my birthday, January 28th.
Cold but sunny for the weekend. βοΈ We’ve wanted sun for some time. Saturday will have intervals of clouds and sunshine. High 21F. You’d have to be high to think that’s warm. Just wait until February. Gusty Saturday with steady winds 15 to 25 mph. That’s going to make it feel cold. A bit of a moderating pattern for Sunday, looking at a high of 24 then and slightly less windy but still with cold January-like wind-chills. 𧀠Better wear your Bernie Sanders mittens.
I am a bit undecided about my weekend plans πΏ but skiing or hiking at Schodack Island remains on the short list π as I don’t want to go far from home. π‘ I could choose the even closer to home carbon free option of a walk out to Five Rivers. π¦ I’ll see how biting the wind π is come tomorrow morning.
Fifty seven days until the first day of spring. π· When there is no hope, there is eight weeks until that cruel joke known as the first day of calendar spring. π That’s tomorrow, day by day. I’m still waiting for the frigid weather to come in February. First day of spring, God willing will be forty six.
