November 11, 2020 Night

Good evening! Cloudy and 62 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ˜๏ธ There is a south-southwest breeze at 6 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. The dew point is 61 degrees. Temperatures will drop below freezing at Friday around 4 am. โ˜ƒ๏ธ

I am sitting out back after my evening walk ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿป and while it’s a bit damp and cloudy no complaints about the temperature especially for November. While today was a work holiday, it didn’t seem particularly special with the weather being rainy and cooped up inside like a work day. But at least it was warm enough to have the windows open for most of the day. I doubt there will be many more November nights nice enough to sit out back.

While I’m a bit tired ๐Ÿ˜ด, I might take a sleeping pill and retire to my bed ๐Ÿ› inside in a little bit while listening to a podcast. Tomorrow morning before work I want to walk down and drop my direct deposit paperwork off at the post office ๐Ÿ“ฎ and then I need to call the shop ๐Ÿช about getting my state inspection. It’s a bit of a walk to the post office but exercise is better than carbon emissions. Still also need to find the scraper and get the registration sticker back on the truck. ๐Ÿ›ป Not planning on driving anywhere until Sunday although maybe Friday I’ll drive down to the library for the Zoom Meeting. ๐Ÿ“น

Tonight will have a chance of showers, mainly before 2am. Cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 48 degrees at 6am. 15 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around September 25th. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2019, we had partly cloudy skies in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 19 degrees. The record low of 15 occurred back in 1976.

Going to be a bit cool by morning but I’m going to leave the window open โฌœ but I like the fresh air. It might be multiple months before I can sleep with the windows open again.

Tonight will have a Waining Crescent ๐ŸŒ˜ Moon with 12% illuminated. The Beaver ๐Ÿป Moon is on Friday, November 27. The darkest hour is at 11:40 pm, followed by dawn at 6:13 am, and sun starting to rise at 6:43 am in the east-southeast (114ยฐ) and last for 3 minutes and 9 seconds. Sunrise is one minute and 15 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 7:25 am with sun in the east-southeast (121ยฐ). Tonight will have 14 hours and 7 minutes of darkness, an increase of 2 minutes and 17 seconds over last night. Nights sure are long this time of year, especially when I’m camping ๐Ÿ•. Not planning any trips until after Thanksgiving at this point.

Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a high of 51 degrees at 2pm. Two degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around November 9th. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning, which became cloudy by afternoon. The high last year was 33 degrees. The record high of 68 was set in 1909. 7.3 inches of snow fell back in 1968.โ„

In four weeks on December 9 the sun will be setting in the west-southwest (239ยฐ) at 4:21 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 14 minutes and 23 seconds earlier then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had rain showers, cloudy and temperatures between 47 and 37 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 38 and 24 degrees. The record high of 62 degrees was set back in 1966.

Looking ahead, Earliest Sunset of the Year โŒ›๏ธ is in 4 weeks, Tea Party Day ๐Ÿ is in 5 weeks, Festivus ๐Ÿ– is in 6 weeks, Bacon Day ๐Ÿฅ“ is in 7 weeks, Make Your Dream Come True Day ๐Ÿก is in 9 weeks, Inauguration Day โœ… is in 10 weeks, Clean Your Computer Day ๐Ÿงน is in 13 weeks, Don’t Cry over Spilled Milk Day ๐Ÿฅ› is in 3 months and Presidents Day ๐Ÿ‘ด is in 14 weeks.
