September 5, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Saturday. Finally the weekend! Six weeks to Northern Zone Regular Season 🦌. Mostly sunny and 48 degrees at the Green Mountain National Forest. There is a west-northwest breeze at 10 mph. πŸƒ.

Kind of a lazy start to my Saturday. πŸ’€ But I’m in no rush, I don’t have any big plans except for maybe taking a walk down the road to Shep Meadow 🐦 and maybe walking along some of the back roads. 🚢🏻Yesterday was kind of busy but I don’t expect a lot of work stuff today so I’ll have time for drinking 🍻 and reading πŸ“–.

Woke up to a mouse 🐭 in my truck cap. I don’t think there is a nest from digging around the cap but I think it did climb in when the tailgate was down in the evening. I did finally find a chewed up goronola bar but that’s the only damage. I might unpacked the truck cap later today to check for other evidence of mice. While there isn’t a lot I’m worried about in truck cap 😯 but I don’t want mice in my truck eating actually important wires, leaving me stranded or starting a fire.

Today will be sunny 🌞, with a high of 63 degrees at 3pm. 13 degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around October 7th. West wind 10 to 16 mph. Going to be a cold, cold day. I might have to sit by the heater a bit more. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 72 degrees. Cold last year too. The record high of 92 was set in 2018. Showing you how much cooler it gets now that we are almost in the second week of September.

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:52 pm with sun having an altitude of 53.5Β° from the due south horizon (-16.8Β° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 4.4 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour πŸ… starts at 6:43 pm with the sun in the west (274Β°). πŸ“Έ The sunset is in the west (280Β°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 7:21 pm after setting for 2 minutes and 58 seconds with dusk around 7:48 pm, which is one minute and 45 seconds earlier than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 8:24 pm. At sunset, look for mostly clear skies πŸŒ„ and temperatures around 59 degrees. There will be a west breeze at 14 mph. Today will have 12 hours and 57 minutes of daytime, a decrease of 2 minutes and 51 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be partly cloudy 🌀, with a low of 49 degrees at 4am. Six degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around September 22nd. West wind 10 to 14 mph. In 2019, we had partly cloudy skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 52 degrees. The record low of 38 occurred back in 1938.

Looking ahead, there are 6 weeks until Northern Zone Regular Season 🦌 when the sun will be setting at 6:05 pm with dusk at 6:34 pm. On that day in 2019, we had rain and temperatures between 52 and 46 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 59 degrees. We hit a record high of 85 back in 1947.
