July 28, 2020 Night

Good evening! Mostly clear and 70 degrees in Delmar, NY. Calm wind. The dew point is 54 degrees. Should be a great evening for sleeping. I have the fan going now in low but I will kill it shortly. πŸ‘

Dentist visit went well today. ☺ I’m going to try harder to brush and floss my teeth now. Work was busy but productive. πŸ’» I went over to John Wolcott house 🏑 to look at more of his files πŸ“‚. I am also studying a series of files that I got from them about the history of Save the Pine Bush. 🌲🌲I went for an evening walk 🚢 and sat out back for a while, sipping on some apple juice 🍏. Honestly, I prefer cold apple juice to beer, I like the sugar a lot bed I don’t usually have sweets 🍬 at home.

Tonight will be mostly clear πŸŒƒ, with a low of 62 degrees at 5am. Typical for tonight. Maximum dew point of 57 at 5am. Light and variable wind. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies. It was very sticky. It got down to 67 degrees. The record low of 47 occurred back in 1987.

Tonight will have a Waxing Gibbous πŸŒ” Moon with 68% illuminated. At 10 PM, the moon was in the south-southwest (209Β°) at an altitude of 25Β° from the horizon, some 228,376 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. πŸš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by January 18th. Buckle up for safety! πŸ’Ί The Strugeon 🐑 Moon is on Monday, August 3. The darkest hour is at 1:03 am, followed by dawn at 5:12 am, and sun starting to rise at 5:44 am in the east-northeast (63Β°) and last for 3 minutes and 14 seconds. Sunrise is one minute later than yesterday. πŸŒ„ The golden hour ends at 6:25 am with sun in the east-northeast (70Β°). Tonight will have 9 hours and 25 minutes of darkness, an increase of 2 minutes and 4 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have isolated showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny 🌞, with a high of 88 degrees at 3pm. Six degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 63 at 9am. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning, which became mostly sunny by afternoon. It was sticky. The high last year was 92 degrees. The record high of 97 was set in 1894.

Surprisingly less hot tomorrow. β˜€ Been kind of a sultry summer. I have more books πŸ“š on reserve that I want to pick up at the library plus a Save the Pine Bush event to go to. I also need to schedule an oil change. β›½ I think I’m just going to pay the local shop to do it, πŸ”§ as it’s such a pain to get the filter off it.

I haven’t taken off time for a summer vacation yet. 🏊 I might only take off part of a week, work is busy these days. I could plan certain days for remote work if necessary. I’m leaning towards the old standy of the Finger Lakes National Forest but less visiting state parks this year and being around people as I don’t want to wear a mask too much on vacation. 😷 I like the Finger Lakes for a change.

I am continuing to chew over getting a new phone πŸ“±. The power connector doesn’t work well on my phone and I’m afraid one day it will quit for good. I don’t plan to spend more than $100 but I want something that has an SD card slot and enough memory so it’s not sluggish at times. πŸ’Ύ On the other hand I hate to throw away something that still works.

In four weeks on August 25 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (285Β°) at 7:41 pm,πŸŒ„ which is 38 minutes and 48 seconds earlier then tonight. In 2019 on that day, we had partly sunny and temperatures between 77 and 54 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 79 and 59 degrees. The record high of 99 degrees was set back in 1947.

Looking ahead, Election Day 2020 πŸ—³οΈ is in 14 weeks.
