July 11, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy Saturday. Cloudy, humid and 72 degrees in Delmar, NY. β˜” There is a south breeze at 8 mph. πŸƒ. The dew point is 70 degrees. It’s a swamp outside.

Maybe I should have stayed up in the Green Mountains for another day πŸ—» as it was much cooler up there – most of the week was quite pleasant but it sure looked like last night was going to be a real soaker from Tropical Storm Fahy and today would be cloudy and damp. ☁ But not so much now and it’s going to be hot in Albany. But I have fans that will help keep me cool. Thinking about maybe getting ice cream at Stewart’s when I get milk today. 🍧

Today will have a chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy 🌦, with a high of 89 degrees at 4pm. Seven degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 72 at 2pm. Heat index values as high as 95. Yeap, summer. Those lazy, hazy crazy days of summer. South wind 8 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. A year ago, we had light rain in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. It was humid. The high last year was 86 degrees. The record high of 98 was set in 1936.

Today I probably should get to the laundromat πŸ‘š πŸ‘– and also to Lowes to see if I can get soft screen repair material, run to the car wash 🚘 and maybe do some fishing 🎣 down at the Hudson River.

Tonight will have a Last Quarter πŸŒ— Moon with 64% illuminated. At 6 AM, the moon was in the south (181Β°) at an altitude of 44Β° from the horizon, some 251,645 miles away from where you are looking up from the earth. πŸš€ At the state speed limit of 55 mph, you’ll make it there by January 18th. Buckle up for safety! πŸ’Ί The moon will set in the west (266Β°) at 11:55 am. The Buck 🦌 Moon is on Sunday, July 26. The darkest hour is at 1:02 am, followed by dawn at 4:55 am, and sun starting to rise at 5:29 am in the east-northeast (59Β°) and last for 3 minutes and 23 seconds. Seven degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 71 at 7pm. South wind 7 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. The record low of 44 occurred back in 1978.

I am probably going to stay in town this week with the weather looking stormy. ⚑ I like to alternate weeks. I am thinking of taking the last week of July off for summer vacation – I was thinking a week in the western Adirondacks, Saint Lawrence County but maybe I’m leaning back towards the Finger Lakes again now that pools are open but I’m not sure if I want to wear a bandana over my face 😷 while laying on the grass after swimming. 🏊 Lowville is a fun town, I haven’t been there in years.

In four weeks on August 8 the sun will be setting in the west-northwest (293Β°) at 8:06 pm,πŸŒ„ which is 27 minutes earlier then today. In 2019 on that day, we had humid, partly sunny, rain showers and temperatures between 84 and 67 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 82 and 61 degrees. The record high of 95 degrees was set back in 1983.
