April 18, 2019 Night

Good evening! Mostly and 54 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☔ There is a south-southeast breeze at 8 mph. 🍃. The dew point is 49 degrees. The skies will clear Monday around noontime. Forget about nice weather this Easter weekend but next weekend in the extended outlook appears quite nice.

After the long week at work I got home 🏡 and had a quick dinner of burritos and peas. Hopped on the excerise bike 🚲 caught up on the off grid and agriculture videos I had downloaded and then played around with QGIS for a while making up some maps.

Tonight will have a slight chance of showers before midnight. Mostly cloudy 🌧, with a low of 52 degrees at 10pm. 13 degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical night around May 30th. Maximum dew point of 52 at 6am. South wind around 9 mph. If it wasn’t so damp, I’d probably leave my windows open tonight. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2018, we had partly cloudy in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 34 degrees. The record low of 18 occurred back in 1875.

Tonight is April’s Pink Moon 🌕 which is only pink if the skies are clear and you wear rose 🌹 colored glasses. The sun will rise at 6:08 am with the first light at 5:38 am, which is one minute and 35 seconds earlier than yesterday. 🌄 Tonight will have 10 hours and 25 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 42 seconds over last night.

I was going to go for my evening walk but decided against it based on the radar. 🚶 Turns out we didn’t get any rain but I guess that’s fine as I was busy working on a GIS project.

Tomorrow will have a chance of showers, mainly after 3pm. Mostly cloudy 🌦, with a high of 71 degrees at 2pm. 11 degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical day around May 20th. Maximum dew point of 58 at 6pm. South wind 10 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. A year ago, we had cloudy. The high last year was 44 degrees. The record high of 92 was set in 1976. 8.8 inches of snow fell back in 1983.❄

Still thinking 💭 about taking a hike around town tomorrow and then down to the library to use the WIFI and maybe get some books 📚 out. At some point I’ll need to get groceries, maybe Saturday evening.

All Easter Weekend will be cold and wet. 😞 Saturday, showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 68. South wind 9 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Maximum dew point of 61 at 7am. Sunday, a chance of showers, mainly after 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. Maximum dew point of 50 at 7am. Other forecasts are a bit more optimistic for Easter Sunday. Typical average high for the weekend is 61 degrees. Certainly not a great weather forecast for the long weekend.

Looking ahead, Average High is 70 🐮 is in 4 weeks, Flower Moon 🌕 is a month away, Summer ️⛱️ is in 9 weeks, Independence Day 🇺🇸 is in 11 weeks, August 🌻 is in 15 weeks and Last Sunset After 7 PM 🌆 is in 24 weeks.
