March 23, 2019 Morning

Good morning! Happy Saturday. Finally the weekend! Five weeks to Arbor Day 🌳. Partly cloudy and 27 degrees in Delmar, NY. β›… Breezy, ️22 mph breeze from the west-northwest 🌬 with gusts up to 36 mph πŸ’¨πŸ’¨πŸ’¨. The current wind chill is 13. There is a inch of snow on the ground. β˜ƒ ️Things will start to thaw out at around 11 am. 🌑️

That wind was really whipping around last night and it was pretty damn cold with some rain and snow showers. πŸƒ I probably should have turned the heat back up. Needless to say, I decided to stay home, ride the excerise bike 🚲 while catching up on the latest YouTube videos I’ve downloaded 🎬and then work on some various internal bugs in my blog that I’ve long wanted to fix. I figure now is the time to do it before it warms up again and I’m spending my evenings in the wilderness. πŸŒƒ

Today will be mostly sunny 🌞, with a high of 38 degrees at 3pm. Nine degrees below normal, which is similiar to a typical day around February 28th. Breezy, with a northwest wind around 22 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. A year ago, we had partly cloudy. The high last year was 43 degrees. The record high of 80 was set in 1938. 2.7 inches of snow fell back in 2005.❄ We typically don’t get much snow this time of year but there are a few exceptions in the historical record. Still a lot of snow up north.

Today I’m thinking about going to the grocery store, or maybe Walmart as I could use a bunch of supplies πŸ‘œand then to JC Penny and the Maul to look for dress shirts. After that I’ll head over to the Pine Bush 🌲to do some hiking until after dark. Supposedly it will clear out later on this afternoon.

The sun will set at 7:11 pm with dusk around 7:39 pm, which is one minute and 9 seconds later than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for clear skies πŸŒ„ and temperatures around 34 degrees. The wind chill around sunset will be 23. β˜ƒοΈ Breezy, 17 mph breeze β›… from the west-northwest with gusts up to 29mph. Today will have 12 hours and 19 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 54 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be clear πŸŒƒ, with a low of 25 degrees at 1am. Four degrees below normal, which is similiar to a typical night around March 15th. West wind 6 to 15 mph. In 2018, we had light drizzle in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 29 degrees. The record low of 0 occurred back in 1875.

Tomorrow will have increasing clouds ☁, with a high of 53 degrees at 3pm. Five degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical day around April 3rd. West wind 6 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. A year ago, we had partly cloudy. The high last year was 43 degrees. The record high of 69 was set in 1976. 5.5 inches of snow fell back in 1956.❄

I think tomorrow if I make plans, I’ll have to think about doing them early before it clouds up. ☁ At least it’s expected to be relatively mild for a change but not particularly nice come the afternoon. As I mentioned yesterday, I do want to spend some time unpacking and inventorying my camping gear.

Looking ahead, there are 5 weeks until Arbor Day 🌳 when the sun will be setting at 7:51 pm with dusk at 8:21 pm. On that day in 2018, we had rain showers, and it was cold with temperatures between 50 and 36 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 63 degrees. We hit a record high of 91 back in 1962.
