April 9, 2018 Evening
Good evening! Overcast and 44 degrees in Delmar, NY. βThere is a northwest breeze at 7 mph. 🍃
Not a half bad day at work, but got stuck a bit late so I didn’t make the express bus home.🚍 Doesn’t matter that much, I am taking the next local after the express home. Thinking about it because it’s after rush hour it only gets me home a few minutes later than the earlier bus. The express bus is more scenic and less urban and crowded though. Maybe tomorrow.
The sun will set at 7:31 pm with dusk around 8:00 pm, which is one minute and 8 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for mostly cloudy skies β and 39 degrees. There will be a calm wind. Much too cold to go down to the park, but at least we now have enough daylight so once it does warm up I will be able to spend more time in the park.
Tonight will have a chance of light snow, mainly after 2am. Cloudy β, with a low of 29 degrees at 5am. Seven degrees below normal. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. In 2017, we had mostly cloudy skies with some clearing in the early hours of the next day. It got down to 50 degrees. The record low of 21 occurred back in 1974.
Tonight will have a Waning Crescent Moon 🌘 with 32% illuminated. The moon will rise at 3:47 am. The New Moon is on Saturday night with a slight chance of showers. The Pink Moon 🌝 is on Saturday, April 28th. The sun will rise at 6:22 am with the first light at 5:53 am, which is one minute and 41 seconds earlier than yesterday. 🌄 Tonight will have 10 hours and 49 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 48 seconds over last night.
Tomorrow will have a chance of snow before 10am, then a chance of rain and snow showers between 10am and 11am, then a chance of rain showers after 11am. Cloudy β , with a high of 45 degrees at 3pm. 10 degrees below normal. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies with more clouds in the afternoon. The high last year was 81 degrees. The record high of 86 was set in 1922. 5.7 inches of snow fell back in 1961.β
I told myself that I would not buy anything more on AliExpress but I need more of those micro USB breakout boards as I use them on a lot of projects and I have a tendency to break the connectors especially if they aren’t well stuck down with hot glue. So there goes another $3.50 for 20 of them, money I don’t have to spend. Those discount sites are a bad idea to visit because they are a good way to piss away money a buck at a time. To make up for the guilt of spending the money I did scrape up some money to put in savings for a better tomorrow. 🏡 I was going to buy some more index funds but I think I will get a better deal on market paper come the autumn.
A short lived break from the cold weather this weekend. Saturday, partly sunny, with a high near 71. Maximum dew point of 48 at 1pm. Going to be a beautiful spring day. Sunday, a chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 57. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Typical average high for the weekend is 58 degrees. At least I’ll be able to wear the vest rather than the heavy jacket. Sunday I’ll make sure to have a fishing pole in my truck so after work I can hit up a trout stream. 🎣
Tonight I’m going to keep working on my new KML export plug in that I’m building based on mmqgis plug in but with a design closer to how I want to work. 🐞I should figure out how to use the various respiratories and version control software and publicly share my work but that sounds like a lot of work. Maybe I’ll look at posting the tar ball on my blog.
I should probably go shopping tonight, but I’m tired and I don’t want to spend money until I have more coming in. 🍎While my pantry is getting a bit barren I’d rather empty out my refrigerator first before I buy more. Sometimes there just isn’t extra money left over to spend on food. I will probably work on some projects and do some soldering tonight and maybe go down to the library for a bit.
I disabled background data for all my social media applications, both to save my limited data after the big amount of data eaten up earlier in the week. I also get tired of all those pings and notifications about stupid stuff on Facebook.🔕 I like the quiet. I’m tired of my phone beeping every time a frequent flier comments on a post.
In four weeks on May 7 the sun will be setting at 8:02 pm,🌄 which is 31 minutes and 40 seconds later then today. In 2017 on that day, we had rain, drizzle, patches of fog, mist, cloudy skies and temperatures between 53 and 41 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 67 and 44 degrees. I definitely are looking forward to some nicer weather. The record high of 92 degrees was set back in 1930.
