The Day After Christmas

Finally Ordered the Lift Kit for My Truck. I put down half of the money for the purchase price, and will pay the rest once the parts arrive, and I’ve paid off my credit card. It will be a lot of fun I think, especially once I get the stronger 4.88 gears put into it this spring.

Today, I went up to Partridge Run WMA off of Bradt Hollow Road, and hiked back a ways to look for squirrels. Didn’t have much luck, but part of the fact was I stumbled over a squirrel den, but didn’t actually see it until almost dusk. I know where I will be going back to next week. Still, it was nice to be sitting and observing nature in the woods, and to get up to the beautiful hilltowns.

Tomorrow’s weather looks pretty nice. Even nicer then today — the high in Woodstock tomorrow is 50 degrees. Going up Overlook Mountain to watch the sunset. I could bring my shotgun with me, but I know if I want to haul it up the hill, as there probably be too many people up there to do much hunting anywhere near the trail, and the terrain is pretty rugged once you get off the trail. Need to get a sling too, so my hands can be free hiking. I also plan to stop at Gander Mountain in Kingston to see what is on special after Christmas.
