I’ve been thinking this spring I want to get up to Nine Mile Swamp for a paddle
I’ve been thinking this spring I want to get up to Nine Mile Swamp for a paddle. It’s been nine years since the last time I’ve done it. I just have to plan for a time when the water levels are reasonable and good for paddling and fishing. I thought about it this weekend, but I think I want to wait until it’s a bit warmer out, probably in June.

Spookey Open Area of the Swamp
The Nine Mile Swamp. It's actually pretty remarkable how many of the people who still live near the swamp have "Loomis" in their last name, and are decedents of the infamous Loomis Gang.

Nine Mile Swamp is a great paddle and a good place for catching Bullheads. And to this day, it's remarkable how many descendents of the Loomis family still live in the greater Brookfield-area.
