No More Heat

Don’t like the heat?Β In one more month, on August 20th, the average high temperature will fall below 80 degrees.Β That said, we can still get 80 degree days well into October with the last day it’s ever been recorded above 80 in Albany is November 2, a record set back in 1952.

July 20, 2016 morning

Good morning! It’s a very nice day on this Ugly Truck Day. Sunny and 55 degrees in Brookfield. Calm wind. The dew point is 49 degrees. Beautiful morning after a nice night’s nap sleeping in Big Red, my not so ugly truck.

Today will be sunny, with a high of 76 degrees at 3pm. Seven degrees below normal. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Maximum dew point of 53 at 5pm. The record high of 97 was set in 1991. The sun will set at 8:33 pm with dusk around 9:06 pm, which is 50 seconds earlier than yesterday. Today will have 14 hours and 51 minutes of daylight, a decrease of 1 minutes and 46 seconds over yesterday.

You can’t beat the nice weather today. Even the evening is going to be quite pleasant. I hope to have some time to do some fishing before I have to go home this evening.

Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low of 56 degrees at 5am. Six degrees below normal. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm. Maximum dew point of 53 at 6pm. The record low of 45 occurred back in 1974.

0.3 inch of rain expected between Friday 2am and Saturday 1am. Within the next four days, a total of 0.3 inches of rain is expected. We have some muggy weather coming up. Friday 12pm – Saturday 1am. Maximum temperature will be 85 degrees, a heat index reaching 88, and a maximum dew point of 67. Sunday 7pm – Sunday 11pm. Maximum temperature will be 82 degrees, a heat index reaching 84, and a maximum dew point of 65. Monday 5am – Monday 11pm. Maximum temperature will be 80 degrees, a heat index reaching 83, and a maximum dew point of 68.

On this day in 1969, Apollo 11’s crew successfully makes the first landing on the Moon in the Sea of Tranquility. Americans Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to walk on the Moon, well at least in England. Us Americans would get to watch it the next day because it happened late in the evening.

There are 3 weeks until National Smores Day when the sun will be setting at 8:09 pm with dusk at 8:40 pm. The average high temperature is 81 degrees, with a record high of 96 in 1949.

Busy day on tap. I got to finish taking down camp and getting cleaned up. Have a good one, get out and enjoy this beautiful weather!
