Good morning, Happy Tuesday.

Good morning, Happy Tuesday. Gosh, I love CDTA Bus Time. It’s not perfect but it has worked well for giving me a ballpark estimate of when the next bus is coming. Ironically, every bus yesterday seemed to be basically one run behind – so the 8:33 came at 8:53, balancing everything out.

The commute downtown is sluggish because only a lane and a half is open on Delaware Ave due to the snow banks and cars parked way out from the shoulders. This happens after every snowstorm, and I wish the city had set a snow emergency starting Monday but they didn’t want to screw up like last week. Sometimes when government makes a mistake it over compensates.

In the whole yesterday’s snow storm wasn’t a big deal as the traction controlled buses are good in the snow, and it was cold enough yesterday that while the snow was a foot and a half, it wasn’t icy or real slick.

Cold morning at negative nine but it has warmed up to -5 and will be up to the twenties by later. Despite not loving the larger heating bills, I do like the fact we haven’t had many freeze thaw cycles, which means less rust and potholes. Also, it means that the sidewalks aren’t real icy because water hasn’t had an opportunity to freeze on them.
Hoping the roads get cleaned up midweek as I need to get my truck to the shop to get the u-bolts tighten up on it. I guess it doesn’t matter that much as I don’t put on that many miles this time of year.

Two months until April and shoulder camping season gets underway. There is a small chance I will get out during February break but that all depends on how much snow we have and how cold it is out. I can dig out a campsite but not if the weather is miserable.
