5 Steps (with Pictures)

With fewer and fewer people driving boats on the roads over 220 inches, parking a large vehicle is kind of a lost art.

It’s October !

Good Morning! Happy October. It seems that September has come to an end, and it’s now October. In most pl aces the leaves will peak in the next month and then rapidly fade to the browns and gray of November. Turkey among other seasons starts today.

Dark and gray start to October. I don’t know if we got much rain last night, but it’s sure is wet and damp. After today, I think the temperature is supposed to drop to a range more normal for early October.

I had to go to Dicks Sporting Goods and Walmart to pick up a few supplies, and the lines at the counters where they sell hunting licenses was incredibly backed up – like lines running around the store. I know a lot of people who had 2014 licenses didn’t have to buy them until October 1st, but with all places without paper and computers down, it causes enormous delays and backups.

Made it in time to walk down to the Park and Ride. Not the nicest morning ever for a walk down to the Park and Ride, but hopefully we will get some much needed rain. Saturday is supposed to be a real soaker, which isn’t good for leave peepers but it will help reduce the fire risks and potential fall fire bans. Nobody wants burn bans and parts of the Adirondacks closed off during hunting season, as happened in the fall drought of 1965.

Went to Sears and picked up a few more shirts for both causal and work purposes. I don’t know I would survive clothing-wise without Sears. They moved things around a fair bit in the mens section, but I eventually found what I was looking for.

Traffic is all backed up at the Empire Plaza today. The bus driver is taking us up over Madison Avenue as an alternative. Not sure what the problem was, but the driver said something about the β€œtubes” being closed in part of the plaza. I guess it’s not a big deal, just going to be a little later into work this morning. Traffic is pretty bad on Madison Avenue and Eagle Street today, but maybe that’s normal for rush hour..
