Riding in early to hopefully avoid the rain ๐Ÿšต

I think there is a good chance I’ll be able to ride to work today, five days in a row. Not too bad. I was on the fence about the weekend, but evidently it seems unlikely I’ll head ot to Schoharie for just an overnight. I’d prefer to do two or three nights camping, after all the work to set up and take down camp. Maybe next weekend, or Memorial Day Weekend. That’s coming quickly.

Good morning! Cloudy, the rain has stopped briefly and 52 degrees in Delmar. โ˜ There is a southeast breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ with gusts up to 7 mph ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’จ. The dew point is 44 degrees.

To ride in or not to ride in. ๐Ÿšต That’s the question on my mind. I really don’t feel like busing it to work,  ๐Ÿš๏ธ it’s such a pain with the transfer to the shuttle ↔๏ธ and I enjoy the ride and not paying the $2.60 in bus fare for the day. Plus I like the exercise and how I feel getting all pumped up ๐Ÿฆพ but I also don’t want to get soaked. ๐Ÿ’ฆ It’s a risk to ride in this morning as there is showers all around.

Didn’t get a real early start this morning, ๐Ÿ›Œ as I’ve been staying up a bit later with the additional daylight in the evening, and it was a kind of dark morning and I don’t want to become too sleep deprived and cranky. ๐Ÿฅน I was having trouble with the food processor chopping up the carrots and bananas for the pancakes, but it turns out things were just kind of plugged up and when I cleaned it out things were good again. ๐Ÿฅ• Carrot pancakes again this morning, pretty good. Only one cup of coffee  โ˜•๏ธ not because I was being good but because I didn’t have milk and coffee with plain Kefier isn’t the same as real coffee.

It never rains in Upstate NY ๐Ÿฎ

Tell that to the people trying to turn winter wheat and early spring grasses into cow chow. Maybe it will grow intensely when it finally turns hot after all this rain as is most certain to happen the second half of the month.

Good morning! Happy Thursday. It’s not raining this morning, but the heavy rain returns for Friday. That might actually be the only day I don’t ride to work – – and that was the day I was planning to take off to head out to Schoharie. Mostly cloudy around 56 degrees here in Delmar. ๐ŸŒฅ Light breeze from the west.

It seems funny to be thinking about the second half of May already, ๐Ÿ—“ but I actually rain the label job for work for the second half of the month on Tuesday and sent it along to the print shop. I am trying to plan out the second half of the month now for weekends – – the first half as been shit with the rain each weekend, but things might improve come next weekend. Hell of it is Saturdays have been quite nice, โ˜€ it’s just by Sunday it turns to rain. Same thing this upcoming weekend.

Today will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a high of 67 degrees at 6am. Two degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around May 3rd. North wind 9 to 11 mph. Not much rain expected though, which is good for a break before the rain comes back on Friday. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning with sunny skies in the afternoon. The high last year was 75 degrees. The record high of 93 was set in 1979. 1.6 inches of snow fell back in 1977.โ„

Breakfast this morning was home fries ๐Ÿฅ” with eggs ๐Ÿฅš and lots of veggies. Including a big sweet onion, ๐Ÿง…some garlic, broccoli ๐Ÿฅฆ and spinach. I know that yellow potatoes are mostly a starch but they’re good for a treat. Plus I might ride in the long way to work to burn off some extra energy, ๐Ÿšฒ as it’s not a terrible morning and last night it poured and then rained on and and off so I didn’t get out after the Save the Pine Bush conference call.

Last night broke my record of getting out to Five Rivers each night ๐Ÿธ but I had that conference call, ๐Ÿ“ž and despite the weather man’s promises of better weather for the evening, it actually started to rain shortly after I got home – – I had to run out during the conference call and grab my bike, lest it get soaked with my backpack and junk mail sitting into the back. ๐Ÿ”ฅ Now if the weather could only get nice enough to have a fire to burn that all up, lol. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Doesn’t seem like a complete wash out – – much like last weekend, โ˜” but both ends of the weekend look like they will be touched by clouds, cold and rain. I think I will stay in town, I have some coding and other projects to work on at home. ๐Ÿ–ฅ Bike is running well, I could go out to Voorheesville and or Altamont on Saturday, especially if they are still banging at the unit next door. ๐Ÿšช

One month ๐Ÿ“… from now will be the start of the Gas Up ๐Ÿšœ when the sun will be setting at 8:33 pm with dusk at 9:06 pm. I will probably go one weekend with Dad, and possibly the other weekend hammock camp up in Schoharie and spend the day myself, when I can spend more time exploring and enjoying the festival myself. ๐Ÿฅ• Maybe stop by the Carrot Barn and get some fresh produce and carrots too.

The rains a coming on this Hump Day ๐ŸŒง๏ธ

I’m up early and bussing it to work doing laps walking on the Concourse. Been a while since I’ve been downtown but I figure it’s a good chance to get in some steps before work.

Good morning! What day is it? Hump Day, of course. Cloudy โ˜๏ธ and 38 degrees in Delmar, NY. There is a south-southeast breeze at 8 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. There are 2 inches of snow on the ground. โ˜ƒ ๏ธTemperatures will drop below freezing at Saturday around 6 am. โ˜ƒ๏ธ I can keep the heat off for now, didn’t even need the electric blanket last night.

Pancakes with carrots, oatmeal banana and cinnamon topped with mango and blueberries with real maple syrup, ๐Ÿฅž just waiting for the blood sugar crash. ๐Ÿ˜‹ Probably should have had more protein with breakfast besides the egg in the batter, though carrot, whole wheat flour and oatmeal should slow the absorption of the sugar.

Today will have showers, mainly after 10am. ๐ŸŒฆ High of 49 degrees at 4pm. Typical for today. South wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning, remaining cloudy in the afternoon. The high last year was 52 degrees. Solar noon ๐ŸŒž is at 1:01 pm with sun having an altitude of 50.2ยฐ from the due south horizon (-20.6ยฐ vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 5 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour ๐Ÿ… starts at 6:39 pm with the sun in the west (269ยฐ). ๐Ÿ“ธ The sunset is in the west (275ยฐ) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 7:16 pm after setting for 2 minutes and 54 seconds with dusk around 7:44 pm, which is one minute and 8 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 8:18 pm. At sunset, look for rain ๐ŸŒง and temperatures around 48 degrees. There will be a south-southeast breeze at 7 mph. Tomorrow will have 12 hours and 36 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 54 seconds over today.

Yesterday for dinner was reheated ham soup ๐Ÿฒ from the parents house and homemade bread ๐Ÿž which was good with some shredded apple ๐Ÿ and shredded oatmeal with cinnamon for dessert. ๐Ÿ˜‹ I decided to do a bike ride ๐Ÿšฒ out along Meads Lane to see the cows ๐Ÿฎ and get a bit more exercise as I knew I wouldn’t be riding to work today. ๐Ÿ˜” I did ride both ways yesterday to work but rain today. โ˜” Maybe I’m just making excuses and making the bus company rich.

Tonight will have a chance of showers. Cloudy ๐ŸŒง, with a low of 40 degrees at 4am. 10 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 22nd. South wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. In 2023, we had light rain in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 33 degrees. The record low of 85 occurred back in 1945.

A picture perfect weekend on tap. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Good Friday, mostly sunny, with a high near 49. Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 50. Breezy. Easter Sunday, partly sunny, with a high near 51. Typical average high for the weekend is 51 degrees.

I still haven’t heard about Good Friday โœ๏ธ but I am inclined to thst believe that I will have it off but it hasn’t been made official yet probably because of the state budget crap. These days I’m glad I’m no longer working Capitol Hill. ๐Ÿข I will probably pack tonight, and I’m hoping to use my get out of jail early card for Thursday but who knows. I’d kind of like to get bacon ๐Ÿฅ“ on the way to the ADKs from For the Love of Bacon but they close at 5 pm, plus I want to get up north fairly early not just to crack open a beer ๐Ÿป but because it takes more time to set up camp โ›บ in the snow. The bacon place is open at 7 am on Good Friday so I could do the bacon thing on Friday and go up early as an alternative assuming that I don’t know about Good Friday until tomorrow.

As previously noted, there are 2 weeks until 8 PM Dusk ๐ŸŒ† when the sun will be setting at 7:33 pm. On that day in 2023, we had sunny skies and temperatures between 67 and 30 degrees. That works for me. Typically, the high temperature is 57 degrees. We hit a record high of 86 back in 1922.
