June 22, 2016 5 PM Update

Good evening! Partly cloudy and breezy and 76 degrees in Albany, NY. Breezy, 24 mph breeze from the west. The dew point is a comfortable 41.

I guess I’m going down to the Hudson River to go fishing and to pick up supplies this evening. I don’t think tomorrow night will be quite so nice. I will pack tomorrow for camping.

Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 52. Seven degrees below normal. West wind 8 to 13 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. The record low of 44 occured back in 1940.

Tonight the sun will set at 8:36 pm with dusk around 9:11 pm, which is 9 seconds later than yesterday. Tonight we have a Waning Gibbous Moon with 92% illuminated. It will rise in the south east around July’s Buck Moon is on Tuesday, July 19th.

Thursday will have a slight chance of showers after 10am. Partly sunny, with a high near 78. Two degrees below normal. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%. The record high of 96 was set in 1888.

The weekend forecast has gotten even warmer. Saturday, sunny, with a high near 88. Sunday, sunny, with a high near 91. Typical average high for the weekend is 80 degrees. Going to definitely be a hot one for the first weekend of summer. I guess that means I’m going to Piseco Powley Road for the weekend for the Potholers. We’ll see.

In four weeks on July 20 the sun will be setting at 8:26 pm, which is 10 minutes earlier then today. The average high is 83 degrees, and the record for that date is 97 degrees was set back in 1991. Still a lot of summer left to enjoy.
