July 22, 2016 8 AM Update

Good morning! Last day of work for me before vacation. While it’s going to be hot outside today, I’m going to be pretty busy all day long. Right now,Β partly Β cloudy and 76 degrees in Delmar. There is a south-southwest breeze at 8 mph. The dew point is 63 degrees.

Today look for scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Some of the storms could be severe. It’s always that way with the heat and humidity. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Maximum dew point of 70 at 5pm. Yucky sticky. The record high of 102 was set in 1926. The sun will set at 8:25 pm with dusk around 8:57 pm, which is 53 seconds earlier than yesterday. Fortunately, tomorrow I’m heading out west where the sun sets late.Β Today will have 14 hours and 46 minutes of daylight, a decrease of 1 minutes and 50 seconds over yesterday.

Today in 1991, Jeffrey Dahmer is arrested in Milwaukee after police discover human remains in his apartment. Remember if you eat other humans, to take our the garbage regularly. I don’t know if human carcasses burn quite as well as coons. Maybe with enough diesel and some tires. Two years later, Great Flood of 1993: Levees near Kaskaskia, Illinois rupture, forcing the entire town to evacuate by barges operated by the Army Corps of Engineers. I bet some rednecks in hick towns had some wild bonfires after that, getting rid of all their moldy, flooded junk. Stay up wind of the black smoke.

There are 1 week until National Lasagna Day when the sun will be setting at 8:18 pm with dusk at 8:50 pm. Sad how much earlier the sun is setting now. Thanks Obama. Β The average high temperature is 82 degrees, with a record high of 97 in 1894.

Make some money today than vacation. I have to go to the laundromat tonight and pack, and wash the kitchen floor which didn’t happen yesterday. I want to leave early tomorrow, as it’s a long drive out to the Finger Lakes National Forest and I want to have time to get lunch and take some pictures. I do need to pick up my eye glasses and contacts at 9 AM at Empire Vision. I still left a lot of my stuff packed in my truck from last week.
