Originally, the New York 2 bridge went from Congress Street in Troy to 19th Street in Waterviliet.
In 1978, the Collar City Bridge was one of the last big Urban Removal projects in Capital Region, ramming it's way through downtown Troy, leaving it's noisy and smelly mark on an area just north of the downtown.
Those cloverleafs take up a lot of space.
Built in 1982 to replace the previous bridge that collapsed in 1977 during spring flooding. Click on the blue dot to bring up the full bridge record.
