Montgomery County

Montgomery County is a county located in the U.S. state of New York bordering the north and south banks of the Mohawk River. As of the 2010 census, the population was 50,219.[1] The county seat is Fonda.[2] The county was named in honor of Richard Montgomery, an American Revolutionary War general killed in 1775 at the Battle of Quebec.

Minaville

Minaville is a small farming community south of Amsterdam on NY 30, bordered by the South Chuctonunda Creek. Fort Hunter Road splits off from NY 30 here.

Lost Valley

Small hamlet, that grew significantly smaller after Hurricane Irene washed much of it away in Montgomery County off of Lost Valley Road. As you can see from the USGS Topographic Map, it's a pretty deep valley in there.
