August 4, 2016 Evening

Good evening! Sunny and 86 degrees in Albany, NY. There is a south breeze at 8 mph. The dew point is 57 degrees. A pleasant low humidity afternoon. Don’t you wish all of summer could be like this?

Busy day, but I got out for a short walk walk midday, mostly running papers between each office. I was able to make all my appointments on time.

After dinner, I’m heading down to the park. It looks like Thursdays in the park is done for the year. Probably read and work on my blog for a bit. Certainly now is getting darker earlier in the evening now that August is upon us.

Tonight will have patchy fog after 4am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low of 62 degrees at 5am. One degrees above normal. South wind around 8 mph. Maximum dew point of 61 at 6am. The record low of 43 occurred back in 1972. The sun will set at 8:10 pm with dusk around 8:42 pm, which is 1 minutes and 16 seconds earlier than yesterday. Waxing Crescent Moon tonight with 20% illuminated. The moon will set around 10:43 pm. The First Quarter Moon is next Wednesday with partly cloudy skies expected. The Full β€œStrugeon” Moon is in 2 weeks..

Tomorrow will have patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high of 87 degrees at 3pm. Five degrees above normal. South wind 6 to 10 mph. Maximum dew point of 63 at 10am. The record high of 99 was set in 1955.

Right now, a split verdict on the weekend. Saturday, a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 84. South wind 7 to 11 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Maximum dew point of 69 at 9am. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 81. Maximum dew point of 60 at 7am. Typical average high for the weekend is 82 degrees.

People have gotten a lot more negative on the forecast for the weekend. Maybe the clouds and rain will hang around a bit longer but I’m not seeing a washout. But I guess Saturday could continue to slide in the wrong direction.

In four weeks on September 1st  the sun will be setting at 7:27 pm, which is 42 minutes earlier then today. Where do those days go so quickly? The average high is 77 degrees, and the record for that date is 96 degrees was set back in 1953.
