April 30, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Where did April go? It was quartined. Cold and tardy was the spring, ❄ I’m surprised how little green there is even in the city. May looks like it will be cold. 🌷Some years we hit 80 degrees in April, that was not to be this year. Next Thursday is Flower Moon πŸŒ•. Cloudy with rain on the way around 52 degrees in Delmar, NY. β˜” There is a south-southeast breeze at 10 mph. πŸƒ. I have my windows open, maybe I should close them soon. The skies will clear Saturday around 9 am.

Today will have showers likely, mainly after 11am. Cloudy 🌦, with a high of 60 degrees at 4pm. Four degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 19th. Maximum dew point of 50 at 5pm. Breezy, with a southeast wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 16 to 21 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 37 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had cloudy skies. The high last year was 51 degrees. The record high of 86 was set in 1903. There was a dusting of snow in 2008.❄

I have that meeting mid-day πŸ’Ό and then after I’m going to probably try out the Aldi’s in Colonie to get the food 🍲 I didn’t get at Walmart this past weekend. Aldi is small and easy for shopping which is good in the Coronavirus Era when you want to get in and out quickly and it’s hard to see anything under the bandana over the face. 😷

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:53 pm with sun having an altitude of 62.3Β° from the due south horizon (-8.5Β° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 3.1 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. No shadow from the sun today. Going to rain. β˜” The golden hour πŸ… starts at 7:16 pm with the sun in the west-northwest (285Β°). πŸ“Έ The sunset is in the west-northwest (292Β°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 7:55 pm after setting for 3 minutes and 7 seconds with dusk around 8:25 pm, which is one minute and 8 seconds later than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At dusk you’ll see the First Quarter πŸŒ“ Moon in the south-southwest (210Β°) at an altitude of 65Β° from the horizon, 231,049 miles away. πŸš€ The best time to look at the stars is after 9:04 pm. At sunset, look for rain 🌧 and temperatures around 58 degrees. The dew point will be 49 degrees. Breezy, 22 mph breeze β›… from the south-southeast with gusts up to 34mph. Kind of a wet wild night. But I’ll stay home. Make the Coronavirus Uncles police 🚨 crazies happy 😊. Today will have 14 hours and 4 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 30 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will rain. The rain could be heavy at times. 🌧 Said so definite. Low of 51 degrees at 4am. Eight degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around May 27th. Maximum dew point of 52 at 3am. πŸ–οΈ Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 20 mph decreasing to 9 to 14 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. In 2019, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 42 degrees. The record low of 28 occurred back in 2008.

No further evidence of Lyme at the tick bite.🎯 I’m checking twice a day for a bulls eye and will get a picture and call πŸ“ž insurance about telemedicine should it be necessary. Not been feeling that sick today which is good but drowsy with the cold and wet weather so I made a second pot of coffee β˜• up. Days really aren’t the same when your not getting up and taking the bus 🚍 to work.

The weekend is now looking quite nice. β˜€ Saturday, a slight chance of showers before 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 68. Northwest wind 9 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. Maximum dew point of 44 at 6am. Sunday, partly sunny, with a high near 68. Maximum dew point of 47 at 6pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 65 degrees. Should be nice but I expect the bugs to be bad and swarming around a lot if I decide to camp and hang out in the hammock.

I am once again thinking about getting out of town this weekend. β›Ί Not sure were I will go or if I will have on Friday as it will rain β˜” through the evening. Trails might be quite wet. I’m expecting the bugs to be fairly bad too. 🐜 I’ll have to think about it some more if I don’t get out of town the question πŸ™‹ becomes when will the next time I can get away. Not sure if I will want to do that hike 🚢 I was planning as that trail will be soaked. I guess I could wear my muck boots but they aren’t great for long hikes. To be decided. I should decide relatively early as that may change what I buy at the store. 🏬

It looks like May is going to be pretty wet and cold. ☁ I don’t see us hitting eighty any time soon but I’m sure once the pattern changes it will get super hot. ♨ I wonder if all month I’ll be working from home or some normalcy will return. Not going to be fun working from home if it’s really hot and I don’t have air conditioning although I guess I can bring my work laptop and phone and work down by the river if I’m doing number crunching or something that doesn’t require much data. πŸ“Ά

I have a bunch more videos and photos πŸ“· to upload but I don’t see that happening until Monday, as it kind of cold and wet to work out of my truck πŸ’» on the library Wi-Fi. With the new blog layout dash cam photo snaps work nicely when they’re uploaded. I think I’ve fixed the bug πŸ› in the uploading code yesterday but I’m sure I’ll discover future glitches.

As previously noted, next Thursday is Flower Moon πŸŒ• when the sun will be setting at 8:02 pm with dusk at 8:34 pm. On that day in 2019, we had partly cloudy, rain showers and temperatures between 66 and 49 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 67 degrees. We hit a record high of 92 back in 1930.
