Lean-To Side

Photo uploaded on April 4, 2010.

This is truly a beautiful lean-to. You don't see many thru-hikers on this part of the Long Path, and indeed I think from looking at the log, only about 10 people have ever stayed here since it was built circa 2007.

About Burnt-Rossman State Forest

The 10,588 acre Burnt-Rossman Hills State Forest is the largest state forest in Schoharie County. This is a very popular state forest for hiking, camping and other outdoor activities.

A section of the aqua blazed, 350+ mile Long Path travels through the state forest. Along the Long Path is the Eminence Lean To, located about 0.5 miles east of Old Cemetery Road. The Long Path crosses Old Cemetery Road just south of an old cemetery.

There are several campsites along Betty Brook Road, and at Duck Pond on Burnt Hill Road.

Looking Glass Pond on Rossman Hill Road provides opportunities for fishing and boating on a small pond with fishing platforms maintained by the Fulton Fish and Game club.
