June 25, 2016 Morning

Good morning! Happy Saturday. Finally the weekend! Mostly sunny and 78 degrees in Stratford. There is a west breeze at 3 mph. The dew point is 57 degrees. A very nice day for sure.

Today will be sunny, with a high near 83. Three degrees above normal. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon. The record high of 95 was set in 1898.

Tonight the sun will set at 8:40 pm with dusk around 9:16 pm, which is 2 seconds later than yesterday. Today will have 15 hours and 20 minutes of daylight, a decrease of 1 minutes and 21 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 58. One degrees below normal. Light and variable wind. The record low of 39 occured back in 1979.

On this day in 1998, in Clinton v. City of New York, the United States Supreme Court decides that the Line Item Veto Act of 1996 is unconstitutional.

There are 2 weeks until Sugar Cookie Day when the sun will be setting at 8:37 pm with dusk at 9:12 pm. The average high temperature is 82 degrees, with a record high of 103 in 1936.

I lucked out and got the campsite in the sand plains of Powley Place. The last time I camped here was 2012, which shows how difficult this campsite to get, at least after getting up here around 7:30 or eight after work.

It was a beautiful night, cool but now too frigid. At quarter to midnight it was 60 degrees. By morning it fell to 48. A bit chilly then. Lots of stars above, especially with this campsite with the clear skies above. Some sites are full but many are empty. I think with the Independence Day holiday next week, many people just stayed home.

Today, I’m going out paddling and fishing on Stewart Landing, along the Sprite Creek up to West Canada Lake. But in the meantime, I’m heading for a swim once I get there. With the swim goggles it should be much easier swimming with my contacts in. I’m sure on a hot day like today, it will be packed!
