Christmas Weekend Forecast

Looking ahead to the Christmas Weekend, it looks like we will have generally warmer weather, about 5-10 degrees above normal for late December. The best day of the long weekend will be Christmas Day, with snow and rain showers a possibility on Christmas Eve and the Monday after Christmas. Cooler then last Christmas, but that year was record breaking in many ways.

Christmas EveΒ will have a chance of snow showers before 10am, then a chance of rain showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high of 40 degrees at 2pm. Seven degrees above normal. Chance of precipitation is 40%. A year ago, we had fog, rain and record breaking high of 72 degrees.Β 13 inches of snow fell back in 1966.

SaturdayΒ night will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 30 degrees at 5am. 12 degrees above normal. In 2015, it got down to 35 degrees with periods of rain. The record low of -22 occurred back in 1969.

Christmas Day will be mostly sunny, with a high of 39 degrees at 1pm. Six degrees above normal. A year ago, we had rain and a high of 59 degrees. The record high of 66 was set in 1889. 19.2 inches of snow fell back in 2002.

Sunday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 25 degrees at 6am. Seven degrees above normal. In 2015, it got down to 34 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. The record low of -17 occurred back in 1914.

Monday will have a chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high of 39 degrees at 2pm. Six degrees above normal. Chance of precipitation is 30%. A year ago, we had mostly cloudy skies and a high of 49 degrees. The record high of 59 was set in 1895. 13.9 inches of snow fell back in 1969.

Monday night will have a chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low of 32 degrees at 5am. 15 degrees above normal. Chance of precipitation is 40%. In 2015, it got down to 35 degrees with periods of rain. The record low of -18 occurred back in 1914.
